Get a last-season's Next item from a charity shop and leave the price label in.

Who on earth would have the nerve to ask for something like that. You must be so proud of you DD though. Good on her.

Loving the news and the bouncy smileys!

We managed to get both DSs (13 and 10, solo tents) and DDs (twin 9s, in a 3 to 4-man tent) camping in the garden over Easter, so we're on for more camping too. I'm still favouring me sleeping in a comfy bed (with a nice loo and bathroom), and them out in a garden somewhere, though!

I have to admit that I have survived particularly dull shifts at work by reading some of the slightly pervier freebies on my kindle, but I do tend to keep my OU text pdf as the next document down so when people ask to have a look at it I can quickly flick it over.....

Sounds like DD has the right idea, my god I wouldn't even ask my parents for an outfit from next as a kid, never mind ask someone else to buy me one, at best I might suggest a gift voucher for spending later!

Am being v, good and restricting my PC usage to those times when OH is either asleep or absent to minimise the complaints about me spending too much time on the PC. Obviously this is a pain in the bum on OHs weekends off when its raining and the only alternative is housework. Still there are always ways to occupy myself and so I finished the 700 page novel I started on Thursday which reduces another shelf on the bookcase to a single tier of books which looks so much tidier although judging by the other shelves it also generates a vast amount of space on which people can dump random gibble ranging from Barbie shoes to nail varnish. I fear I'm destined to declutter them very soon.

Spent Friday under a deluge of paperwork finally chasing up the missing £50 from last years Halifax promotion. Also wrote to the vet insurance peeps enclosing invoices in the hopes of getting them to cough up for the remaining treatment to the hound from hells paw. Double checked OHs renewal paperwork for his job related stuff and generally pootled about which resulted in liberating £15 from an assortment of survey companies.

DD1 had a fab time at the party and scoffed a three course meal. Blew £70 filling the car with fuel before collecting her. Couldn't be arsed with Mr Ts but have since run out of bread so really need to do that today.

Spent Saturday shopping since DD1 has grown out of everything again. Bought an aray of yoga pant type stretchy leggings and fleecy tops and even discovered that one particular brand of fleeces in the kids range fits me perfectly and is VAT free too which kitted me out with an array of new jumpers for work at a mere £4 each. OH killed the time perusing the camping section which is why we're now the proud owners of another small tent, this time one the DDs can put up unlike our current monstrosity which requires a degree in astrophysics and several dozen pairs of hands. Ended up buying DD2 an adult sized sleeping bag since hers is now too short and then decided that self inflating mats were a good move in addition to clip together cutlery. Did manage to talk him out of a lot of other random things but even so the bill topped £200. Just as well that we managed to drop the overall debt by a whopping £1800 last month. That certainly ain't happening this month! The boy has twigged theres a miniscule window of opportunity between the cash arriving and me sending it winging on its way leaving a v. small proportion for day to day living and random frivolities.

The DDs are making quite sure that thers no changing his mind and have not only sourced a campsite but have gone to the extreme of packing too. They're just a bit excited. DD2 was hopping up and down squeaking and making no sense whatsoever. DD1 has written a list of things that need doing before they depart which includes buying chocolate for mummy so that she doesn't feel sad. No chance of that! DD1 was trying her best to persuade OH to pitch the tent in the garden so they could practice last night despite the torrential downpour and the thunderstorms. She changed her mind when the lawn started to flood.

Plans for today involve riding lessons, a quick forray into Mr T and the decluttering of the PC desk. Am also hoping that it stops raining long enough to photgraph OHs spare Landie parts so that they can go on E-bay in the hopes of creating a bit of space in which to bung the things hes purchased from E-bay in the last few days. Hping his entusiasm to fit the bits hes bought matches the enthusiasm hes displaying for shopping. Sadly thats rather unlikely although he did surprise me by taking the hound from hell for a walk last night. Amazingly she almost behaved. Almost. Think it will be a while before he volunteers again.

Amount of clutter on desk vastly reduced and another £20 worth of gift vouchers claimed in the process.

Off to don my wellies and splosh through the puddles to release the chooks. Have been avoiding it for the past hour in thehopes the rain would stop but it hasn't and the chooks are getting progressively more irate about being shut in when its light outside.
