Hehehehe - well done on the use of all resources at your disposal. Very well thought out and also very MSE. Now that sounds like a Bridget Jones supper if ever I heard of one! Hope that you get some sense out of those chooks. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Things are yo-yoing but are generally more positive than not. Woke up to find OH had left me a cuppa on the worktop which was a fabulous surprise and would have been even nicer had I got out of bed when he slammed the door instead of staying put reading a book. Still the thought was most appreciated.
Tis payday and my bank account looks most healthy. Have sent wodges of cash to play on the money merry-go-round. Hopefully I have one more transaction to go before the 26th to meet the Ts and Cs of the Santander offer thus obtaining £150 and will shortly be able to close the slowest on-line banking account ever invented. Thus simplifying life somewhat in that I'll only be juggling three current accounts instead of four.
Dinner with the chooks was most pleasant although had to have words with one who decided to fly over the fence, hover round my ankles in the hopes I'd share and who finally gave up on all manner of etiquette to land on the table, nick a bickie and leg it with much flapping and squarking. Thought it was bad enough when the hound from hell sits drooling from a distance.
OH attempted to walk the hound from hell yesterday but abandoned the idea whan the old dear made it perfectly clear that she would not be left behind twice in one day. Hes not up to walking both of them at the same time, especially when the geriatric pooch decides to be selectively deaf and legs it after a rabbit which results in OH being dragged along to join in the chase whether he likes it or not.
Have much to do today but sadly its mostly of a domestic nature. Really really need to do some serious cleaning and some tidying and an awful lot of hedge trimming before Monday. Fun, fun, fun!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
There are a lot of racing greyhound owners round here. Someone I know was taking her three racers for a walk one morning when a hare popped out of the hedge. Ooops. When it popped back through the hedge it was hotly pursued by three greyhounds and a flying woman on the end of a lead."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"

Thanks Wordsmith, I SO needed a smile today. Really appreciate it.

I have exciting news! More of the pots of mud contian green and in some case red sprouty things. Quite what they are is anotehr matter entirely since DD2 was having far too much fun to stop and label the plant pots. Am guessing that the first to reveal themselves were likely to be salad leaves and the red ones are beetroot but after that its anyone guess. Its all rather exciting really.
In far more exciting news the latest Joe Browns catalogue arrived and was quickly relocated to DD1s school bag. She's racked up a virtual shopping list stretching into the thousands and was most disgusted to find that the contents are intended for adults. Apparently thats a waste. Meanwhile I'm coveting this although it is rather impractical and the pointed hood would make me look like a reject from one of Enid Blytons Noddy stories. Must remember I'm supposed to be transforming my wardrobe to a chic capsule affair.
Off to annihilate hedges before it rains or the neighbours appear and work out just how much more I'm intending to remove.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hedges duly masacred and the carnage timed to perfection. Friend arrived just as my head exploded raining snot down my face and transforming my eyes into two glowing red orbs swimming in a lagoon of tears with a waterfall cascading down my face helpfully spreading the snot further afield. I hate hayfever. Rather surprisingly friend didn't stay long which was just as well because I couldn't see much for a good half hour.
DD2 is slowly getting worse and is now refusing to eat. Her glands are huge and her throat is so swollen its making eating hurt so shes not bothering. Had to bribe her to eat breakfast by feeding her ice cream yesterday, schools cook gave her more ice cream for lunch and she had a smoothie for dinner at 9pm when she finally woke up after falling asleep in the car on the way home from school.
Means theres been a mahoosive change of plans for today. Have cancelled the riding lessons and phoned the wrinklies to let them know that DD2 and OH will be staying home tonight. Instead DD1 and I are going to overnight at Grannys... assuming no one else is overnighting at Grannys... answerphones are only so helpful.... which means I now have to pack and sort out whatever DD2 will need whilst I'm away which includes sourcing a bag of popcorn, more immitation Calpol and lots of Tunes. Then I have to persuade DD1 not to wear hooker chic in front of the elderly rellies whilst figuring out what the heck I'm going to wear. Am now wishing I'd had a haircut whilst simultaneously wondering why I care what the relatives I never ever see actually think. Also need to make sure that whatever I do wear works with a barbie pink feather trimmed cowboy hat. Yee Ha!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Have a great weekend. Hope DD2 gets better soon - sounds really miserable for the poor mite. As OH has lone parenting duties, does that mean he will stay off the vino?"Green pastures are before me,

Hello!
I've only just discovered your thread but because of time constraints only read the first few pages and the last couple. You certainly have a way with words and should try submitting a few articles to magazines or newspapers.0
