Inspired by the thought that Mr Ts v. nice machine may well spit out another £10 off a £70 spend I was most restrained. I stuck firmly to my v. minimlistic list and spent a smidgen under £15 on the weekly shop. Obviously then I got a bit sidetracked due to a combination of last weeks £6 off a £40 spend voucher burning a hole in my pocket and Mr Ts £10 off a £40 clothes shop, which turns out to be a mere £5 if you're shopping in store, it seemed like the gods were persuading me to clothes shop and clothes shop I did. Shocking discovery of the day was the inclusion of both short and long legs in the jeans... better still they even fitted properly... went on to try almost every type of bra in the shop and found three that the girls didn't look horrifically out of proportion in, admitedly one was a sports bra so have brought the others home for OH to pass final judgement and also to try them on with girlie things because they're a bit scary. I opted for a t-shirt bra which isn't that odd but snuggled in the bottom of a bag is an air bra which makes me look like I've had a Jordanesque boob job... brought it home just for the shock factor. Tis a most odd thing which rusltes when you put it on almost like someones sewn a couple of bags of air filled packaging material into the cups which is probably precisely what it is. No doubt I'll be taking some of it back but even so after a quick pit stop at the fuel station I've still blown £100. There are days I'm not safe to be let out of the house.

In far more exciting news the postie has just been bringing with him the tunic which is nothing at all like I imagined. The buckles aren't as big and garish and its a soft charcoal grey although it does look more like felt than wool and its short. Really short. Bend over and reveal your undercrackers type short. OH will love it, thats assuming it fits.

and so one swift change of clothes later the jury is still out. Its a little on the big side although the bra with the pneumatic boobies does fill it out a little better but this in turn gives me a cleavage to rival Dolly Partons. OH will think its his birthday. Its far too short to risk tights, so will need to aquire a pair of black leggings to go with and a pair of boots that I can walk in. It is growing on me though which in itself is rather scary. Had I paid Joe Browns retail price I would have been really disappointed though. Its nice but its not £35 worth of nice but for a fiver it'll do. Have promised the school fashion police that I'll take it in for their approval. They're in shock that I've bought something girlie in the first place.

I am officially an airhead. I've had a poor chap at Money Supermaket chasing the Halifax to trace a missing reward payment which was apparently paid out almost a year ago but missed by me as it showed up as cash not reward on the statement. The most generous people at the Halifax have v. generously made a £25 donation to Moo's wardrobe fund by way of an apology for taking a fortnight to figure this out. Happy days!

    Hey Moo,
Your spendaholic ways are most amazing to me, being the sort of person who never spends what I can't afford! No insult meant, my vice is smoking which is much sillier because it damages my health. Wonder if it is time you started making your own bread though, as you're saying that you need to visit the supermarket to buy some and heaven knows what else you'll find whilst you're there.... I am going to upgrade my bread machine because I want to get the new Panasonic that makes rye bread (being a health freak, apart from the fags) and my existing Panasonic still makes exceedingly good bread so I would be happy to donate it to the land of Moo if you'd like it? It would be great if you could pick it up but, because I live in SW London, that is probably not an option, so pm me your address and I'll get it sent over. It makes fantastic bread, although it takes 5 hours! Because it is so scrumptious I always slice and freeze it so that I don't get tempted to pig out!

KAMH thats a fabulous and most generous offer but I have to confess to already owning a bread machine. I know it seems like we eat tons of bread but thats because there are three lots of packed lunches each day which wipes out half a loaf and DD1 and OH have toast for breakfast and between activity snacks which wipes out the remainder. If I wasn't going for bread I'd be going for fruit or milk or some other such thing. Its still cheaper to go to Mr Ts and splurge than it is to fork out £25 in school lunches and a fiver a day in OHs work cafe.

I suppose my spending is a little erratic. I'll buy what seems to be loads of clothes all at once and then nothing for yonks. Have hit the stage where I only own eight bras, half of which are sports bras on the point of disintegration, one which I can't wear whilst bending over because the girls escape and the other three are the sort of things that lurk in the back of the drawer because they're too uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time and have been in residence for quite a long time. Should really dispose of them but there are occassions when a manky yellowing sports bra really won't do.

Having tried yesterdays clothing purchases on with the sort of clothing that one wears that sort of thing with I'm returning the vast majority of it. I'm keeping the sports bra to replace the manky ones and a t-shirt bra because it allows me to wear more of what lurks in my wardrobe. Means I have £20 worth of clothing to return next time I venture out bringing the weekly shop to a far more sensible £30.

In more exciting news I've paid my lifetime membership fees, all 5p of them, and am now officially a Country Marketeer. Have reached an agreement with the ladies of the Country Market to man a 2 hour stall once a month which will mean making sure the DDs help out at horse riding on that particular day. Does mean I can make as much jam as I like and be paid for doing it. Have left a few jars with a friend to take on Friday and am paying her in eggs for the transportation and babysitting of them which shes most happy with since she'll be there anyway. Assuming they all sell I'll be looking at about a tenner in profit. Now have to wangle myself a place on a food hygiene course to meet all the regulations.

Tis a gloriously sunny day and one which I'm planning to spend with the hounds at the park. Still have quite a lot of housework to do. The idea of a cleaner becomes more tempting with each passing day. Mind you the trainee cleaner in residence (aka DD1) who is desperate to earn more money by being helpful is adament that she doesn't want to earn money that badly and has declined my generous invitation to clean the bathroom. Can't think why.

DD2 is a candidate for Munchausens by proxy. The hypochondriac daughter is absent from school not because she isn't well enough but because they don't want her there on account of how yesterdays sore looking mouth is todays pus filled blister. Obviously being DD2 this is no ordinary pus filled blister oh no, its the honey coloured crusty looking pus filled sort of blister thats classic of impetigo and which is one of the many nasties on the list of things which thou shall not send their child to school with for the next 4-10 days. Sadly this meant I had to bring her home and so we departed as soon as the bell went. As shes not ill, just contagious by contact this means we have to avoid the rest of the human race for the forseeable future or until shes crusty, whichever comes first. As theres no chance whatsoever of her touching another human whilst doggy walking we're orf to the park although I forsee our activities being seriously curtailed for the next few days. But not for the next hour because being a mean mummy I've got copies of todays maths and english lessons to keep her occupied.

DD2s pustules are on the point of exploding and are refusing to go dry and crunchy which means no school again. As shes not exactly ill we've decided that our days will be spent home schooling whilst sticking as closely as possible to the school curriculum so as today is PE we're off for a bike ride after that apparently its science and we're torn between making exploding volcanoes and finding something requiring less cleaning up afterwards and it being a heck of a lot of fun. Think the afternoon is destined to be spent researching the rainforests for geography although since we have a stash of David Attenboroughs planet earth films no doubt we can do that whilst scoffing lunch.

Had a fab time at the park yesterday. DD2 was convinced that walking with lots of other people who had nothing better to do during the day was going to be really boring but as it was she had a fab time. She and twenty or so dogs got rather wet in the river, chased lots of balls and sticks and generally ran round like loons. Popped into the visitors centre for ice creams in the sun before heading home. Did miniscule amounts of housework before abandoning DD2 with OH and heading into school in a vague attempt to make up a few hours. I failed miserably.

Kitchen now resembles the early stages of The Day of the Triffids. The aquired tomato plants are already a foot tall as are the beans. Will need to transfer them to bigger pots over the weekend. Will also need to do something with the beetroot which is growing remarkably quickly. Could also do with a spot of weeding but filled the garden waste bins yesterday when I masacred the hedges. The front of the house looks much better for it. Now theres just the small matter of shifting five ton bags of assorted stuff and I can start attempting to level the front garden... in anticipation of OH parking another trailer on it. At least that will get it out of the back garden.

Have been looking into food hygiene courses. Turns out I can do one locally in a mere three evenings for £50 plus parking fees. Alternatively I can do a teach it yoursefl on-line course for £30 in about 2 hours which would be far less hassle and quite probably a lot more informative. Will be doing that whilst OH and the DDs are away on holiday.

    Hi Moo

Hope you find plenty to keep you and DD2 occupied!!

I remember when my son had impetigo but his was inside his nostril so he had what resembled a cornflake stuck up his nose :rotfl:.

When my son was younger he had hand, foot and mouth - not sure where he got that from but he does seem to attract these contagious diseases!!!

    Have fun!!

Lawn poopascooped, dead rat retrieved from the jaws of the hound form hell, several dozen more corpses located from various points around the garden. The kitten has been on a killing spree.

Geriatric old dear is leaving wet patches in her wake thanks to her deciding to go paddling with DD1 yesterday. It will be days before she dries out and she honks. Boy does she honk. For all it was a fast flowing stream she still managed to wallow in a stagnent spot.

First load of washing is on the line, need to extract the next from under DD1s desk. After that I forsee a spot of planting and then an awful lot of kitchen cleaning. Apparently environmental health like to pop round to do kitchen inspections. If that doesn't give me a kick up the backside nothing will. I forsee much kitchen cleaning being required in the very near future.

Meanwhile I need to take a trip to Ruthin to aquire some sensibly priced jam jar lids. Apparently I can buy them online is batches of a thousand but can turn up in person and get far fewer without the shipping fee. Its only a tiny place but it makes for a great day out. Quite when it will make a great day out is another matter entirely.
