And there was me thinking I was the only person to choose their decor around their pets bad behaviour;)

    TPAx

I once bought a carpet to match my cat.

The salesman found me on my knees, rubbing cat hair into one of the sample squares to see if it blended in...I won't tell you what he said, but I think he thought I was a bit odd :D

It was either that, or dip the sandy coloured cat in dark green food colouring :rotfl:

As the owner of two ginger/white monsters as well as deep red carpets, I think this is an idea of sheer genius :D

    Trust me.

You know there's hair on the carpet, but you can't see it :rotfl:

Whereas we're now at the stage where I've said to Mr Fresian that we're not redecorating until the little sods die....:D

Only 6-8 years to go then

Chill people. If I were to redecorate such that you couldn't see the animal hair then the old dear would live in a white padded cell lined with synthetic fur. The four legged fiend would be banished to an aritistic interpretation of the sky at night complete with twinkly fairy lights into which the one eyed cat would go for entertainment. The small grey thing would get the run of the house because he doesn't appear to moult... either that or someone eats his fur.

Loving all the pet talk. Glad I am not alone in some of the mad things that I do to accommodate the big dog.

Speaking of pets Moo thought that you might be interested in this - not sure if it is near to you but if it is they will really enjoy a new person coming along. Dont think I can make it as still not transport available. http://hawardentwoofup.eventbrite.com/

Thats rather tempting Cheri. If you can get a train from there to here I've got space for you both in the car for the final leg to it.

Meanwhile the carnage continues. Not content with covering the hous in a fine layer of dust I arrived home to find OH painting in the dark in his uniform. Whilst I am most impressed at his enthusiasm I would have been far more appreciative had he been wearing manky clothes or even overalls so that I didn't spend half an hour scrubbing the paint out of his clothes. Still everythings had a first and in some cases a second and third coat so that hopefully I stand a chnce of getting the whole lot painted on Friday whilst the DDs are at school. The presence of a set of ladders in the smallest of the smallest small rooms in the house is not sufficient to stop them niping to the loo in there although DD1 was outraged to discover a lack of loo roll. Meh.

Have spent the odds bits of time not spent cleaning up after OH cleaning up after everybody else. Am now up to four bin bags of assorted fabric and shoes to sell on at the recyclers on Saturday thus swiftly clearing up the upstairs hallway for the gazillionth time. Hoping I can rustle up another bag by the weekend which should then mean I can finally, and very briefly, put everything away. Hopefully the laminate flooring is departing tomorrow which will tidy up downstairs. After that its just a case of cleaning and tidying and polishing and still the place will look like a disaster zone but hopefully a week without OH will mean less clearing up after people and more getting round to things that keep getting put off.

Still trying to decide what to do with the hours of OH-freeness. Whilst it would be rather productive to dedicate this to mass cleaning and tidying I'd rather be walking the pooch in a variety of local parks and wide open spaces. Of course that would be rather impractical and would most likely result in me being rather late for work everyday next week. Still its very tempting. Need to squeeze in a visit to the civilised world with the DDs for new school shoes as well as performing all manner of chaufeuring duties and remembering to feed them. It will be v. nice to have them all to myself for the week though. By about Monday I'll be regretting saying that as all out war breaks out over something very trivial.

Thanks for the kind offer Moo but trains out of this place are diabolical. I would have to go to Shrewsbury, change and then up to Wrexham. As the trains from here only run every two hours and connections are pants I would need to leave home at 4.30 am to get to the station for the 5.20 train to connect at Shrewsbury to get to Wrexham. Exhausted just thinking about it.

Hopefully I will not be carless for too much longer, it is driving me potty. I would recommend going along though. the people are all lovely and they take kids along too so the girls would enjoy it I think. If you do make it tell them I say Hi and I am jealous. I didnt know any of them when I turned up. Still dont know most but they will remember me as Max's mum and the lady who helps to organise is the one with the two Danes who he stayed with at Christmas.

I too would always rather be spending my time in parks and forests with the pooch so I am afraid I would egg you on to do that in OH freetime. The more you are out the less clearing up after yourselves there would be. Thats always my excuse.
