Meant to ask which Audrey Niffenegger novel you have. I loved Time Travellers wife once I got the gist of it.

I loved Time Travellers wife too so was wondering the same thing!

Red Dragon pie sounds yummy. I might give it a try some time.
I've got my own flat :j:j

Was rudely awakened at 8:30 by loud snores emanating from OHs pillow. The source was not, as I first suspected, tthe hound from hell. she was the reason for the absence of circulation in my legs, at some point during the night I had aquired two not so small children which equally explained the lack of duvet on the miniscule patch of bed I was occupying. Next time we replace the bed I'm buying a super-king!

Have abandoned any hope of going to the Twoofup or anywhere else this side of 10 o'clock, in fact even 10 is woefully optomistic. Children are upright although not really awake. They've made it as far as the sofa where negotiations have commenced in the hopes of having a cooked breakfast. Since the kitchen resembles a war zone this is highly unlikely. At some point during the night the kitten discovered a rabbit roll and set about choimping his way through the wrapper before attacking the contents. Am hoping the one eyed cat joined in otherwise the kitten has consumed half his body weight in meat and is likely to have belly ache for most of the day. Hes already emitted some rather impressive farts.

Beans are now merrily boiling away and I've lobbed a packet of bread mix in the machine to accompany the packet soup mix I unearthed yesterday which hopefully means lunch is sorted, always assuinig the house is warm enough for bread to rise. Need to raid the freezer for milk as we appear to be almost out already which is quite impressive considering I was convinced we had 8 pints on Thursday.

An enormous pile of laundry appears to have materialised in the basket. Story of my life! Looks like today will be a day like any other. Am already 100 pages into the book. Its nothing like The Time Travellers Wife, it lacks the sort of detail that captivates your attention. Still its not a bad read just not as good as I was hoping, but the Time Travellers Wife took an awful long time to get going so theres still hope for this one.

I have just blown the grand sum of £130.38 on a pair of school shoes and they weren't even Christian Louboutins.

Admitedly the actual school shoes in question were only £9 in the sale but whilst we were there DD1 pointed out her shoes were both disintegrating and uncomfortable necesitating the spending of a further £34. After that we nipped into Mr ts for milk and a swiming costume to replace the one the four legged fiend ate and a hairbrush to replace the one the four legged fiend ate and a cat litter tray to replace the one the four legged fiend stood on and broke and a few other vital items including pizza for pizza night, a pot noodle for kick boxing night and a bottle of wine. I have a feeling its going to be a very welcome treat. Even splurged and bought a bottle with some flavour which is normally a waste of time when OH is arround since hes happy to drink any old pigswill. Since I was there anyway I filled the car with go-go juice at a rather scary £1.30 a litre setting me back £48.49 for a little over half a tank.

Came home and negotiated a dobok in DD2s size for a mere £7 which I need to collect when collecting the DDs from Grannys next weekend. Still thats them both kitted out for a fifth of the cost of new ones. Am getting increasingly tempted to join in myswelf as it looks like an awful lot of fun the only downside being the audience of gawping dads at the back of the hall and the small matter of me being at work whilst the class is on, besides which I do enough excercise avoidance as it is without committing to myself to a sport with weekly homework and spending £250 a year for the privilige.

God. Remind me again why people have children. Must have asked the delightful darlings a dozen times over the weekend if they had homework, I even supervised whilst they did it so why then at 7:30 when told they need to go to bed do they miraculously just have one odr two questions to do or in the case of DD2 15 more pages of choose your own adventure to write or at least it should be 15 only shes lost the three shes already done so really needs to start over again.

Curried beans weren't anything spectacular, in fact they tasted suspiciously liked baked beans only with a bit more colour and a lot less tomato. Not one of my better improvisations but not a totally inedible one either. Used up a can of rice pudding for desert and then made jelly for the next couple of days lunchboxes. Also managed to rehome the dog guard thats been whacking me on the head everytime I've used the tumble drier for far longer than I care to remember. Its another thing out of the way. Only several gazillion more to go.

Haven't really achieved much today, apart from the exercising of the spendy elves. Now feeling rather sleepy. Would be v. decadent and take a glass of vino to bed with my book but I fear I may end up wearing it. Far safer to veg on the sofa in front of the fire instead and hope I don't nod off.

No way, but I will come and sit in front of one if you dont mind. Your house sounds interesting. I was going to say idyllic but then from what you say it also sounds like a lot of hard work. How are you getting on without OH to distract you? I am missing mine and feel so bored.

You're more than welcome to partake although it sounds like a heck of a journey to cover the short distance from thee to me. Perhaps a compromise involving a pub with a fire is required.

It would be a lot less work if it was tidy to start with. Seems to take me three times as long to shift the detritus of everyday life as it does to clean the place hence the mamoth on-going cull of all things surplus to requirements. If I wasn't such a lazy moo it would also be considerably cleaner. Hence plans for today involve a whole lot of housework and a whole lot more gardening as the green bins depart tomorrow and theres a whole heap of debris on the bottom patio and steps to go in them as well as a fair amount of hedge clippings left over from previous attempts at clearing the garden.

Am quite enjoying the absence of OH and would be enjoying it more if the DDs weren't pulling quite so many pranks. Apparently OH told them if they were feeling lonely they could hop into mummys bed... well of course they're feeling lonely if thats the reward. Growling at small children after being woken for the fourth time in rapid succession might not form part of the governmental guidlines on parenting but it does ensure a good nights kip.

Hoping to blitz the house today and then again on Friday in anticipation of Grannys visit and OHs arrival home and then in between I can do the bare minimum which should leave me free to paint the ceiling (must do this otherwise OH will throw the mother of all wobblies) and go on as many walks as can possibly be squeezed into the small amount of time remaining during daylight hours.

Am making progress on the pile of food evicted from the cupboard. Tonights dinner involves xmas pud and I can't believe its not chicken balti with the naans I forgot to liberate from the freezer yesterday.
