No chance whatsoever that shes even vaguely lab. Mum was most definately a Weimaraner. Her face keeps changing shape. Its long and thin at the mo. but it was much squarer a month ago. Am thinking she still has a fair bit of growing to do. Still shes all mine no matter how odd she looks.

Have liberated a bag of rubbish from DDs room and decluttered a ceral bar and two orange Kit Kats. Getting the enthusiasm together to tackle DD1s room. SStuck my head in their briefly and discovered the baran wasteland that is her underbed cupboard. Its contents are strewn across the floor. Not looking forward to this at all. However it needs to be done. Going to do as much as I can until noon when I'm hoping it will be dry enough to venture outdoors for a bit.

Had a mass cullin DD1s room which resulted in the eviction of all her junk from the drawers under her bed in order to create enough space to put her school uniform away which in turn created enough space to put the rest of her clothes away. Now just need to rehome everything that was previously in her drawers and get her to try on a huge pile of stuff which I think shes outgrown before bagging it for DD2 to wear in a couple of years time. Hopefully I'll get that done this afternoon.

Logs arrived just after lunch. Managed to move most of them round the back but I've stil got at least another hours worth of shifting and stacking to do. Of course that will take considerably longer because its persistantly pouring down again. Still at least thats us sorted for logs for the rest of this winter and hopefully the start of next winter too.

OH arrived home with news of a six night overseas trip which means six evenings of tv free bliss to look forward to. DD2 now has two parties that week. Shes suddenly gone from being the odd kid that everyone wants to avoid to the kid its coolest to invite to parties. Not entirely sure why. She spent yesterday evening at cookery club making onion soup which shes promised to make for dinner one evening. I have been issued with a shopping list. Shes adamant that it simply cannot be done with manky value onions, it has to be the enormous 3 for £1 things of which she'll need 8. Having told her I'll deduct it from her pocket money shes agreed to compromise with value onions but has warned us that it won't be as tasty. Not entirely sure hows shes figured that one out.

Managed not to spend any money yet this week but am almost out of chicken feed so will have to venture out for that. Since I have to pass the tip to get there I'm planning on bagging and dumping some stuff... asuming it ever stops raining as OH will have a fit if he finds out I've put dirty stuff (apart from the hairball) in the back of the car.

  • Hope the rain stops soon - it affects everything.

I have woken up to pouring rain which would not be so bad if the lambs did not have to go for slaughter. Cue me and brother loading the lambs in the pouring rain. I am soaked!!!

Then I sorted the rest of the animals who were wondering why I am letting them out when it is the middle of the night :rotfl:

I used to love it when my OH worked nights, it was lovely to d o whatever I wanted every evening and meant I could sprawl out all over the bed:j

Am having difficulty with the sprawling in the bed bit since the fourlegged fiend waits for the snoring to start before climbing on to the bed and slowly pushing us so she takes up more and more space. I awoke this morning hours after OH had left with a miniscule amount of duvet curled up in a tiny ball wedged up against the headboard.

Hope you get a good price for whatever lamb you can't wedge in the freezer.

  • The reference to lamb in the freezer reminds me - what did you do with the pomegranates? The only thing I've ever found to do with them that ws any good was to cook them with roast lamb - an Armenian dish, I believe. Alternatively, you can consider what happened to Persephone - and she only ate six seeds! This might put the DDs off in future.

Being a bit of a heathen the first thing triggered by Persephone was a truly absymally dire novel about a biscuit tin with a china figurine in it. It may even have been a Stephen King novel which says a lot. Either way it was an experience I won't ever be repeating.

Thankfully the second thought I had was more operatic in nature, that being Orpheus in the Underworld which is best known for giving the world the Can-Can. Other than that it was a pretty odd bit of opera and an even odder stage musical. Although one I had to endure for several months as a child when my parents were going through their theatrical stage which saw me spending most of my waking hours in a variety of warehouses and v. cold theatre rehersal rooms. Mum loved to be on stage whilst dad preferred to be behind the scenes. I did my best to avoid the bright side of the lights but always seemed to get roped into the role of token child although fortunately not token singing or dancing child as I have two left feet and sound like a dying cat when I attempt to sing.

In the end the DDs used the pomegranates to decorate the kitchen in that I've been finding seeds in drawers for weeks. They also managed to liberally splatter juice on both floor and ceiling and everything in between. Finally bunged the last offending fruit in the blender and dished it up with rice pudding having told the DDs it was jam. It wasn't great but it did get rid of it before it went fluffy. Incidentally most of the recipes I found were alcoholic ones and whilst pomegranate margarita sounds worthy of experimentation OH is doing an absymal enough job at reducing his alcohol intake without any encouragement from me.

Spent yesterday shifting and stacking logs in between helping next door with the repairs to a pipe burst. Still have ours to do. hoping that will happen this weekend now its finally stopped raining from the ceiling and puddles of water aren't forming at the bottom of the walls. Have gained two v. nice cracks both about 4 feet long which will need filling at some stage which means repaining two walls. Not a task I'm looking forward to since that was almost he only finished room in the place. The rest of it is still a building site. Every other room downstairs (with the exception of the kitchen which merely has sockets dangling in mid air) needs a fair amount of plastering doing although since we have to remove more plaster to repair a damp proof course before plastering this is a job for summer which keeps being delayed because of the sheer amount of mess and chaos this will cause. Mind you since life is normally chaotic this won't be much different to normal really.

Spent a fun filled few hours dehairing the house since the four legged fiend has decided to moult. Just the solid floors to mop which will take me an hour or so and then all the floors have been done. Another couple of hours of mad tidying and a lot more chucking should see me finishing phase one of DD1s room. Its finding the couple of hours thats proving rather difficult. Have puppy school this morning and a trip to the quacks to look forward to this afternoon. Mind you thats buying me two v. easy days at work and the option to skive as I'm anticipating being rather bruised once they've finished mutilating me. Tis a good excuse to avoid cleaning loos. Risk of infection and all that. Not that you can infect cauterised tissue but theres a first time for everything.

Whoo hoo its payday. Have performed the early morning money shuffle thus ensuring that all accounts are now firmly back in the black. Have also shuffled enough to qualify for this months free fiver from the Hafilax. Next job is to sit down and figure out what needs to end up where to cover everything until next month just on the off chance I need to pay for half term childcare with it.

Skived off puppy school in the end. I was rather lacking in both energy and enthusiasm. Did manage to mop floors and generally tidy up *again*.

Escaped lightly at the quacks when Dr Death decided hacking chunks out of me with a red hot poker was a bit extreme and instead hit me with the freezer spray. Now have three giant red patches the size of 50ps with interestingly swollen centres. Apparently I have a whole week of them being itchy and flaky before the defective bits of skin drop off to look forward to. Made it home to pick up the DDs afterwards but made the mistake of stopping for a cuppa before heading back to school and kick boxing classes. Side effects stepped in nicely leaving me with muscle spasms, numbness and a general queasy feeling. Persuaded OH to chaufeur us before doing as little as possible and coming home for dinner and a night of trashy telly. Other than a bit of muscle ache this morngin there don't seem to be any other side effects so no excuse to skive today.

Eeek. Came perilously close to parting with £70 in the Wierd Fish 80% off on-line sale. not that nay of the stuff that fell into my basket was 80% off but a gal can dream. Fortunately common sense kicked in before the typing of the card numbers occurred. They're still my favourite ever shop. Just not one I like the prices in. Even in the sale.

Oh you bad girl. I have just been over to the site. I was very good though and cancelled out as I was about to buy about £50 worth of stuff.
