OH is on super duper earlies again which is the only reason I'm posting in the middle of the night. Gave up trying to go back to sleep. Everytime I got somewhere close one of the gazillion sheep hovering under my bedroom window went Meh waking me up again. Already feel like death warmed up. Will be knackered by lunchtime and unspeakably grumpy by bedtime.

Managed to kick myself out of the doldrums yesterday and get tons done. Now have a humungous pile of stuff to post. Everything from the dregs of the thank you letters to the last three weeks of post from the postie people which had been gathering dust in the fruit bowl. Filled half a wheelie bin with ash and carp from the garen. Stopped at that point because otherwise it'll be unwheelable by collection day.

Also managed to fill one of the green bins with leaves and stray branches as well as an assortment of weed infested plant pots. After that I managed a leisurely half mile sprint up and down the road in pursuit of the hound from hell who was determined to evade capture and was torn between getting into the sheep field and antagonising the rat on a rope at the farm down the road. Eventually managed to round her up. Turns out that whilst it will ignore its name screaming "!!!! you you stupid mutt" at the top of ones lungs before heading for home at a stomp guarantees you arrive at the front door at much the same time as the errant dog does. Obviously OH slept through all this.

Meanwhile the last of the vino was quaffed leaving only the unopened cider in the fridge. Wonder if OH will feel the need to purchase another bottle or whether he'll wait until Thursday which will be the start of his weekend. Tis anyones guess.

Plans for today involve a spot of hedge masacring to fill the second wheelie bin before tomorrows collection. Additionally a spot of domestic drudgery is urgently required. Also need to do a few photos to go with yesterdays fleabay listing of laminate flooring as I'd forgotten all about it being free for the weekend. Was too dark to even attempt it yesterday.

Did a spot of filing which crated a fair amount of space in the cupboard. Now need to do the same in the filing cabinet which is crammed beyond maximum capacity.

Am drinking posh cafetiere coffe in the hopes of delaying the purchasing of instant stuff until the middle of the week. Am stuck here until the log delivery arrives. Will get 40 minutes warning which is sufficient time to leg it home from work but not the supermarket. Still at least it will make me do creative things with the dregs of the fridge and so I've liberated a pack of stewing beef to go with the last of the carrots for OHs dinner. I'm having mushroom lasagne for the third day in a row. Oh joy!

Umm actually I'm about ready to go back to bed. Have done an hours worth of incredibly dull surveys and can't stop yawning. Hoping shedding all my clothes to stand in the freezer (aka the bathroom) before scalding myself in the shower and then leaping back into the freezer will wake me up.

Tis raining so all plans for outdoors are on hold. Instead I'm cleaning out the fridge, one item at a time, starting with a chocolate orange. Thats being accompanied by another mug of cafetiere coffee, this one a mere 11 months beyond its recommended date. Only three more packs of coffee to go before I'm at the bottom of the stash which isn't bad for someone who hasn't bought any in well over a year, in fact it could even be two. You'd have thuoght with all the things I'm no longer buying, because I have enough stockpiled to see me through a nuclear winter, that my grocery bill would have vastly reduced but it hasn't and thats because I'm a sucker where the DDs are concerned which is why I will imminently be seeking out a recipe requiring pomegranates since the little darlings conned me into buying them one each despite being reminded what a pain they are to eat.

Suppose I have to stop avoiding all the things that need doing by randomly surfing and actually get on and achieve something. Tis a good job I'm not self-employed as I'd be skinter than a skint thing.

  • Hi Moo

Is this the Newfoundland because in this pic she looks suspiciously like a black labrador???

Anyway I think she makes a good model, maybe you could put the pic on eby and just say 'Dog not included' :rotfl:

More pics of assorted animals would be lovely also

It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Morning all! Strange things have happened. Pootled round doing pootly things yesterday, got to going back to school time and realised the house actually looked tidy *not in the Anthea Turner sense of the word* but considerably tidier than normal. Did lots of bits and pieces including ironing for the third time this week which is keeping an armchair clear of clothes and adding to the whole feeling of actually making progress.

OH toook the DDs to the supermarket purchasing most of what was on the list, apart from coffee which he seems to have substituted for hideously expensive McVities biscuits. By friday he'll be moaning because the DDs will have eaten them all which is mostly why I don't buy them, that and a certain porky somebody thinks chocolate coated biscuits are an acceptable substitute for breakfast. Sadly he also caved and purchased a bottle of vino which he promptly drank. Still its been a weeks reprieve from my old life. I've been much happier and I am not going back to the way things were.

No sign of the log delivery yesterday, hopefully they'll arrive today once it stops raining because I don't fancy shifting five tonnes of logs in the rain. Thats simply not fun.

Plans for today involve considerably more pootling about attempting to tidy up. Also need to evicti of all DD2s outgrown tracksuit bottoms and do a mass tidy up of DD2s pit which is minging. Then I need to magic up a birthday gift for DD1 to take to a party although I think I get a couple of weeks reprieve on that one. Also fancy a spot of something jiggy on the Wii to reverse the effects of the two or so kilos of chocolate that I've scoffed since Christmas.

ps. You're right EE. the hairball does look suspiciously like a lab but shes not as square and shes considerably bigger and still growing.

    Hi Moo

Hope DH can manage his alcohol consumption without upsetting the household.

I wonder then if she is a Lab x Newfie because that face is definitely a lab but as you say the rest will be Newfie. Looks a lovely dog regardless.

Have you seen those labradoodles? Most look ok ie they are crossed with the smaller poodle but I went to a dog show and saw one which had been crossed with the large poodle and it looked the oddest thing I have ever seen.

Hope you managed to get your photos done in the end!
