30 tediously dull e-bay listings later I found myself at the centre of an overnight bidding war. Am now debating what to do with the unexpected £2.04 this will generate. Have watchers on the strangest things and bids on things that are only 50p less than I paid for them in the first place despite them being used. Clearly theres nowt queerer than folk.
If I locate my enthusiasm I should really photograph and list the remainder of the tat, really I should, sadly even the lure of cold hard cash isn't enough to make me want to repeat yesterday.
Came downstairs this morning to find the four legged fiend had eaten DD1s club baseball cap, the irreplacable limited edition one embroidered with her name. Could cheerfully stuff her in a blender and sell her as cat food. Still am rather glad she chomped on that and not the wooden stock of DD1s rifle which was left propped in the corner of the room to dry out before being stored.
Plans for today involve much domestic drudgery. Having utilised the tumble drier to make headway in the laundry pile I now have a huge pile of stuff to sort and iron. Also need to do serious amounts of tidying and a considerable amount of cleaning purely to find enough space in which to do this. Why do OHs make so much mess?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Ssssshhhhh I'm avoiding housework by doing surveys. Have qualified for a product test problem is it just adds to the number of toiletries in the house. At the rate we're going I suspect it will be approaching x-mas 2012 before I need to buy anymore shower gel. Incidentally what smells like a cross between lucozade and the mens changing room after a rugby match? Me! Made the mistake of using OHs Rightguard extreme fresh energy burst. Tis the most hideous thing ever and we have six bottles of the stuff to wade through.
Lots of random questions from E-bayers - why can't people read the description first? Yes I know a 99p start price on a Wii game is cheap but that isn't because I'm only selling an empty case - Muppets! Worse still if I thought something would fit a size 8 adult I wouldn't have listed it as a childrens item in the 6-7 age bracket. The question reads "Hi, I think you've listed this as a childrens item in error" erm no I haven't thick people of t'internet. Seriously some people shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard.
Off to do the ironing before the hound from hell devours any more laundry and I need to go sock shopping.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Yikes to DD cap.

Yep, she had a great time despite coming last. Don't think she was overly bothered about that though as daddy let her have two bacon butties to keep her warm.
Managed to do many tedious things yesterday including tackling the mahoosive ironing pile that is no more. Also discovered the four legged fiends halter is on its last legs so have ordered a new one from flea bay. Its been adjusted so many times that the strap is wearing thin. Will repair it as a back up but a new one is far safer than it snapping unexpectedly.
Had a v. blonde moment yesterday when I discovered my bank account to be unexpectedly healthy. Was on the verge of transferring it elsewhere when it dawned on me that payday was only a week ago. Seems to have been an incredibly long month.
Plans for today involve a continuation of operation eradicate the dross which means photographing and listing on flea-bay all the stuff I'd conveniently forgotten about on sunday. Also need to do at least three loads of laundry thanks to the DDs encouraging the hairy dog into the shower. Meanwhile DD1s room wouldn't be out of place in a showhome. Her books are now ordered by both size and colour. Am getting v. concerned indeed. Hoping at some point I'll discover shes shoved some stuff randomly in a toy box and has not been abducted by aliens.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I'm sooooo tired. DD1 had a nightmare at 3am which meant putting up with her nicking my pillow for the rest of the night. Tis a glorious day out. I so want to be pottering about outdoors sweeping leaves off the paths and generally doing autumnal things. Need another cuppa before I find the energy though.
ps. Am still wondering what the heck I'd wear with those boots. Am slowly reaching the conclusion that the black or even the grey version would be more versatile but I'm a bit of a dinosaur where clothes are concerned. Vageuley tempted with the idea of a personal shopper but fear I may end up being pressured into stuff that I'd never wear regardless of how fabulous it looks on.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Awake but only just. Was going to venture out for milk and other essentials but discovered OH did it yesterday. Am now fully stocked with cake and chocolate biscuits despite being completely out of fruit and vegetables and cheese. Will be resorting to dried beans for the remainder of the week. Tis going to be a fun time in Trumpy Towers me thinks.
Listed a single solitary item on fleabay yesterday and another on freecycle and a whole three bricks from the dumping ground in the front garden. So want to wave a magic wand and transform the palce overnight. Its getting sooo tedious.
Plans for today involve re-de-cluttering everything I decluttered last week. Its like being on a hamster wheel.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Clearly its almost winter. OH is obviously feeling v. organised and has purchased a mini shovel, several shackles and a giant tow rope which are being installed in my car this afternoon. I assume hes anticipating me careering into a snowdrift on ice at some point over the winter.
Have taken this as my cue to wash all the summer coats in the vague hope of tidying up the hall (delusions of grandeur again) as this is a 1m square space with 3 doorways and a stiarcase leading off it coupled with the suspension of a landrover and an assortment of shoes and boots as well as the coats and a stray bit of electrical conduit makes it a v. small space indeedy. Plans for today involve tackling this. Problem is theres still more stuff than space here.
Am planning to scoff several slices of toast slathered in butter washed down with a couple of mugs of coffee in the hopes of discovering some enthusiasm.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Whoooo hoooo I had a minimalistically clean and tidy hall. OK I then made the mistake of departing for work and returned home to find that OH had plonked the big box of landie parts back in the corner but the rest of it is clear. DD1 is delighted to have gained a vegetable rack which OH purchased in the misguided idea of it functioning as a shoe rack all apart from the high sided baskets preventing any shoes bigger than the DDs being wedged in there. Its now been roped into use as a mobile bookcase and inspired DD1 to tidy her room.
Was v. nice walking in to a clean and shiny hall. Made the entire hour it took so very worthwhile. Makes you wonder just how many jobs take less time to do than you spend avoiding them in the first place though.
Plans for today involve photographing and listing on fleabay DD1s old tropical fish tank. I mean its only been 4 months since it was emptied. Tis another of those large dust gathering items thats driving me nuts.
In most excellent news both the new chainsaw and the parts for the old chainsaw arrived today (Thanks Lucielle - cheque in the post!). Have already logged the tree we felled a couple of weeks back. New saw is more agressive than anticipated, expected it to be ferocious but this goes beyond that and into the realms of being uber mean. So plans for the next couple of days involve sourcing chainsaw trousers and possibly a new pair of kevlar gloves because my hands are considerably smaller than OHs and I have to wear gloves inside gloves to stop them falling of which reduces my grip a little too much.
Plans for today involve a mega blitz of the dining room which honks of kitten shoite. Apparently the DDs have been cleaning out the litter tray which essentially means removing the lumpy bits and pouring dry cat litter on top of the wet stuff. Just walking in there made my eyes water.
Need to visit a cashpoint today in order to pay for the DDs martial arts class. Problem is I shuffled moeny earlier in the week but can't remeber what happened next. I usually shuffle it to one baknk electronically and then move it elsewhere by cheque problem is I think I got sidetracked at that point. Will have to play hunt the cheque book before getting cash from completely the wrong place.
Have 7 more days in which to donate surplus tat to the school fayre. Planning another cull of the book case as OH has brought more books home. Will ditch all those I don't fancy reading. Thinkning minimalistic thoughts which is v. hard in a household populated by hoarders.
Meanwhile OH has decided he'd like a curling bar and a set of weights for Christmas. Tis the most enthusiasm hes shown for any form of excercise in 15 or so years. Bet I stubb my toe on them in the dark within the first week andcommence dusting them round about the same time. Still if it means hes ready to drop the four or so stone he could do with losing then this is a good thing.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
ps. A nameless real life friends OH discovered the hard way that diabetic chocolate is heavily disguised laxative by scoffing three small bars which the lovely people at Approved Foods sent as freebies. *snigger*Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

It might have been several inches deep in snow in the rest of the UK but here in my own little tropical oasis it was gloriously sunny if a tad nippy and so all my carefully thought out plans went sailing out the window and I spent a fun filled couple of hours masacring a teeny bit of the front hedge. Its now a raher minimalistic 2 foot wide which is about a third what it was when I started. Hopefully if I leave it to sprout till spring another good haircut should take it to a sensible thickness. Have been doing this v. slowly for quite some time as when we moved in all the hedges were approaching 6 feet wide. The first drastic haircut was easy but encouraging them to bush in all the right places seems to have taken an eternity. Not helped by a battle with next door who like their 6 foot wide hedge and are resisting the urge to make theirs level. On a v. positive side it making parking outside the house v. sheltered.
OH played with both chainsaws again and has trimmed off a few more limbs. Will take both of us a couple of days to deal with the next tree on the agenda. Assuming the weather stays good am hoping to make a start tomorrow but need to dig out the climbing gear first as its rather tall.
Did various other domesticated chores which resulted in much chucking out of carp but v. little else. Cleared a box from the dining room which appeared to be mostly used tissues and sweet wrappers. Can only assume OH cleaned his car and used that for the junk. Hoping to finish off the dining room later today having spent a fun filled morning visiting banks and food shopping and wot not. Did get a little carried away chuckingout random junk. Turns out some of it included DD1s maths homework... did look like some part finished colouring in to me but apparently its a symetrical mosaic. Of course it is. Duly retrieved from the recycling bag in the garden. Am most glad it hasn't rained recently!
DDs had a great time at martial arts and can now count to ten in korean. I'm sure that will come in v. handy. I took the opportunity to grab a coffee in the stafffroom and peruse the delights of Cheshire lIfe magazine which reads like Hello for those who strive to be famous but are guilty only of having shed loads of cash but v. little taste. Was most funny to see laydees wedged into hideously trendy ballgowns several sizes too small with all their wobbly bits escaping from the armpits. Poor gals!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
