Someone (not on this forum) has just asked me whether paypal postage is using the old rates still today and if so whether it is worth stamping up all their stuff today and taking it to the PO to get a reciept tomorrow.
Thinking about it it would seem logical to be able to do that as th epostage at the time of purchase is valid, and paypal then allow you until tomorrow close of business to post. The PO can't tell if it went in a post box this evening or tomorrow afternoon,?
Is anyone else going to do that? If so can you report back if paypal are still using the postage rates valid today rather than the new ones from tomorrow.

Thank you custardy, it seemed logical to me once my colleague explained it and she says she has about 22 items and could save a couple of quid doing it today rather than tomorrow. She uses paypal postage anyway so it isn't any extra time for her.
Hmm, I have some books to go, may use RM postage today ready for tomorrow then.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I would have though if it was taken to the PO tomorrow it would need the higher postage on it, as thats when Royal mail take it0

That's why I decided to ask on here, when my colleague explained it to me it just seemed so logical I thought i had better check.
I've just sold a whole lot of slim books and pamphlets to Australia, may get them wrapped and stamped today as well. (strangely enough virtually everything i've sold on ebay since I got back from holiday has been to Australia)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I too have bought a load of 1st & 2nd class stamps in preparation for the postage rise.
Do you think I can use the form (shown below) to get stamped at the post office? I have done some jiggery pokery on a CoP I downloaded from the RM website when I last bought an online postage to basically not show the original details it had on there.
I used to get the receipt/proof of posting when I paid at the post office but will the staff be a bit iffy with stamping this piece of paper if my items have the stamps already rather than buying from the counter?

that wouldnt be acceptable a a COP
you could have altered that yourself
just get your COP/receipt
it doesnt matter if you paid postage another wa
i think some folks need to man* up a bit at the counter

I have a pad of P326 forms which the delivery office are happy to stamp for me, on occasions I have done the same over a PO counter for pre stamped post but i dislike doing that too often as it feels a bit too cheeky.
The moment you 'rig' anything up yourself you are doomed to failure, RM suspect us all of chetaing anyway, so don't give them any ammo, just ask for a COP pad at the PO fill it out and be brave and ask them to stamp it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
