As this is now just a month away I thought it worth reminding people especially anyone doing 30 day BINs.

The one that affects me the most is the 2nd clas packet up to 500g which is a standard paperback which increases from £1.85 to £1.95:

Thanks Soolin, I keep forgetting that the prices go up again soon. I just get used to the prices and then have to get used to the new ones. Will have to remember to up my postage prices near the end of the month.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

It is worth buying some stamps before the rise. Ones with 1st and 2nd on are valid at the new rates.
Superdrug last year had a 5% sale in the week before the price rise which made it even more worthwhile.0 -

I've just seen on another thread that Superdrug have their 5% off 1st class offer again for a limited time.
Also you can buy stamps online from Royal Mail in blocks of 50 (large letter) or 100 (standard) and post and packing is free via special delivery if you order over £50 worth. I've just stocked up on a box full.
Also can sellers or shop sellers that use BIN make sure they take the postal increase into account. I bought something yesterday from a very high number multi BIN where the seller charges actual postage only (£2,70 for an item a little under 1 kg), and as the bIN will still be there after the price increase they will be making a loss on postage after that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Blimey, 2nd large letter up from 47p to 51p, +8.5% - that's a bit steep. Think I'll invest in "a few" before the end of the month. And the £1.85 to £1.95 is the other big one for me.

just a quick question about auction descriptions ..
would you put in your description something along the lines of "second class recorded delivery is set at default but 1st class recorded is an option if you require something quickly, please double check your options when completing checkout"0 -

I don't see any problem with that, it isn't 'naggy' and it is precise and to the point.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
