    Probably

But if younger generation were a bit less hedonistic and made their voices heard more then maybe the government would realise that they have a responsibility across generations rather than for a few years. Get some young people voted into Parliament rather than have it be stuffed full of self-interested old duffers.

Yep. And the newer generation are too. Life sucks, and then you turn into your dad.

Quite frankley the Govt thinks that jailing people for flouting the smoking ban is more important than freeing up space in jails and giving repeat violent offenders longer jail terms.

    J. Bulger was a difficult case as the attackers were so young. Its very disappointing but entirely predictable they havent been well monitored since leaving prison, or wherever the hell it was they went after their awful crime.

My wife read the guy who investigated it's book. They may have been young but jesus it most probably one of the worse murders I had heard of in terms of damage and then what they did to the dead body.

Personally I think criminal resposibillity should be lowered to 10/11 lets face it kid's should know right and wrong by then. Perhaps have a system that if it was a one of crime (eg stealling a CD) and they had learnt their lesson their slate is cleaned at around 16-18.
Kid's know their rights now and older kids do so they know a kid under 16 can't be touched so now use them also.

It's a tuff one but I think murder and mutilation should be life whatever your age.
Taking a life should mean you never lead a free normal one yourself either.IMHO

Anyone know how a young child can be abducted from their parent's caring and secure hands by two children?

Regardless, I'd have hung them and saved the taxpayer a fortune. Dead people don't need new identities.

Did he not get lost in a shopping center. I have a two year old and watch him like a hawk but it only takes a second to go behind a isle and lose you :(

So I think you should read what happened before throwing some blame at the parent.
The point is !!!!!! would two children abduct and murder a child for!! than your point?
You would like to think if you did get separated from your child for any reason we lived in a world where people would do their best to see them safe!!!!!!!!!!

we live in a sick world - and the sickest thing of all, is that people are ashamed to go on QT and say these two killers should have been hanged in case they offend some happy clappy lefty who wants to put the killers interests firsts.

so what if they were abused???????? its just an excuse, and no different to a speeding motorist saying they were late.

To be fair, George, I think he wondered off. I don't blame his mother. I think people would feel better if these two were at least serving a long length of time in an adult prison after their stint in a fairly cosy youth unit. It does make you despair when you can pretty much half any given sentence.

It's a very grim and depressing story all round.
