Morning All ,
MSD - Yep it is Monk! I love the programme too; watched it quite a lot whilst off sick over the last couple of months. Only problem is, is that I'm coming around to Mr Monk's way of thinking more than anything else!
remmie - you poor thing. My DH has no contact with his parents either. I just cannot understand it. Bless you my heart goes out to you xx
Tea tonight will be something with mince. Possibly a chilli. Not sure what I fancy really - need to get re-inspired as I haven't cooked properly for a while now. But my appetite is slowly returning so hopefully I'll find some inspiration soon
Have a lovely day, hugs to all who want/need xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
Morning all......................(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Remmie: I have much sympathy in your situation with your son, my eldest son did the same thing to us 20 years ago.........he got in touch again last year and I have met him once, he does email now and then. Have an extra hug.
No frost this morning, but its a bit dull just now. I have a load of laundry in the washer, hopefully I will get it dry on the line. Not sure what OH is going to do this morning, its boot room, bathroom and kitchen morning for me, the sitting room got done yesteday afternoon.
My cabinet for the sewing machine is due to be delivered on Tuesday, so I have to dismantle the sewing room again and move the table.......I might do that this afternoon....and then may be do some sewing.
OH will be out in the garden I expect.
We got rid of the last lot of boxes last night, a very nice chap came and collected them, so the garage is now almost empty, just a couple of bits left in there.
Quite a bit of toing and froing with sky yesterday, I have at last managed to get into my account, but still no news about when we will be connected to the phone etc. I am wondering if my contract is still in force from the old house, I think if you move the contract becomes null and void??? I will have to look into that. Will have to see what tday brings. When I looked at the progress of my order it did say that the service at our old address had been cancelled...so may be they will pull their finger out and get it done within the time frame I gave them.
Time to go and do some housework......see y'all later...............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
remmie- How sad for all of you, especially those grandbabies. Hoping today has some happy points for you

Just a quick pop in to check up on everyone . . . hope to get back later.

Morning lovelies!
Great big squishy :grouphug: to those in need today.
Remmie sorry to hear about that with your son
It's a little bit strange here [at work] today, we are expecting an announcement to be made but am not sure whether it's going to be good or bad news. I only found out about it by chance yesterday, but there's been something rumbling behind the scenes for a while now.... fingers crossed it's good news, could really do without the stress of job-hunting if it's bad!
Lots of plans for the weekend: I'm hoping to take advantage of any sunshine that gets sent our way by hanging my washing on the line :T. I fully intend to get the WM working overtime this weekend, and everybody is being handed a bin bag and will be told to go fill it with old stuff from ther wardrobes
(well, DS might need some help, being as he's only 18 mths!) it's getting a little ridiculous now, there's nowhere to put anything so we need a clear out!
And I've got big plans for baking too - a nice big chocolate cake and some refrigerator cake too. My sweet tooth is taking over my life :rotfl::rotfl:
Mr T delivery this evening, and fruit and veg shopping tomorrow.
Hope everybody has a good Friday, will try and pop back later if anything happens with work.

Thanks Bitsy and Donny-Gal for your welcome backs!
Donny - it's still really cold here, so pack some warm woollies! There is no real devastation near us but I know some areas have been very badly hit. Drive safely.

Remmie I have pmd you as I wrote a post on here but then realised that there are some posters who would take a glory in what I told you and use it to fuel their inaccurate ideas of what I am like as a person.
Just offering you my support. xx
Nice to see some fellow Monk fans
PS Remmie I cant seem to send you a pm sorry you seem to have that option turned off. bets of luck anywayWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Remmie sending you hugs, my DH and his mother don't speak but it's the other way round with them,. It's his mum's choice. I wish his mum was more like you. Hope you sort it out.

Well two good things have happened!!! My friend sent me the fabric for the curtain to screen off the stuff thats on the shelves in the kitchen, lovely bright yellow, should cheer the kitchen up tremendouly and!!!.................. wait for it.......I have had an email from some one in the executive help team about the issue with sky moving home.....he has asked for a number to ring me, so I am going to have to walk round with my mobile in my hand!! So sending an email to the CEO does have an effect......I wait with bated breath........the situation was really getting me down, there are a lot of calls I need to make and cannot afford the cost of making them on the mobile, we only use the mobiles for emergencies.......
Some one on the board said to try say no to 0870......if you do that it says there is no alternative number......hence the £10 call in the first place, there is a petition going round about this issue, the number must make a mint for Sky you can sign up to the petition on line and can also send an email as I did to the CEO complaining about the cost of phone calls to the help lines and customer services.
Friday clean done, bathroom and kitchen scrubbed, boot room tidied and the floor swept, it does not need mopping, no dirty marks on it since OH has got the idea of cleaning his boots BEFORE he comes in, we have a scrapper outside the door.
Off to sort out something for lunch, fish and chips tonight with the rest of the bread and butter pudding, need to get the chicken out and defrost it for Sunday and also some liver for tomorrow, think we will have it with bacon, sweet corn and green beans, I have a carrier bag full still in the freezer, need to use them up.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good morning chums, sunny but wild and windy here in North Kent.Just got back from my Lymphodema therapist and my arm is feeling really good at the moment.I am going to have an early lunch and then drop into Aldi's on the way to college to see what sort of F&V is on offer.History this afternoon and then tonight I am baby-sitting my lovely little grandsons as my DD and her OH are going to a party and its the first time in 15 years they have been out together without the children !!!!Simon, my son-in-law is very shy, and would rather stay at home with the children but my DD said she wants him to go with her to her friends 'birthday do'
remmie I do feel for you as a Mum myself ,I do hope he will get in touch, you can only keep on trying .My late husband didn't see him Mum for 11 years and I have no idea what they fell out about, but I always insisted that he sent her a Christmas card every year, so at least she would know he was alive and o.k. and one year I stuck our phone no. on the back after he had signed it, and in the first week in January she phoned him up right out of the blue. They talked for ages and eventually solved their differences. We all went down to the Isle of Wight to meet her the following summer, and my eldest, who was 8 by then broke the ice by running up to her and saying 'Hello, you are my real Granny aren't you?' that broke the ice, and the family was reunited
I never asked him why he stopped talking to his Mum, or her as I thought what ever it was it was between them, but the children and her had the right to know each other.
Both my DD's adored their Granny and used to spend long summers with her whilst growing up.Both were heartbroken when she finally passed away and I was pleased that she had got to know them, and them her.
I do hope something will happen for you to break the ice as life is far too short to bear an animosity
<<Hugs>> to anyone else who may be feeling down or blue today
take care all
