OS Daily Thread - Friday 5th March

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Friday 5th March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
HSINhouseWindow02HL.gif Wakey wakey OS lovelies,
SunnyGirl - Percy Diva... giggle.gif.. I am Gardening Diva on another forum I belong to but Percy Diva is funnier.. And just remember what I said in the email; water, water, water those hanging basket tomatoes!!
Lowesy - That is 'Monks' theme tune in your siggy.. I love that programme!
Donnygal - I don't have that much stress going on and I still post.. I think it's the fact that some of us need support and others can offer it that make the Daily so special so keep on telling us your adventures, I for one love reading them.
csarina - Have you looked Sky up on 'saynoto0870'? You might find an alternative local number to call.
Jayward - still thinking of you
Butterfly - Great news about the baby!
Becky - ouchies! Hope the glass works itself out without too much palaver!
JackieO - Hope your arm is feeling OK today.
Lame - I would NEVER say it's just an animal.. if you loved her then of course you will need time to grieve. All I can do is send big hugs your way.
Sistercas - So many things to go Woooohoooo about!! Glad the biopsies were clear and that you lost 3lbs and of course that you are going to see the yummy John Barrowman!
Bargain - Ohh such a cute piccy and your son is just adorable.
Jackieglasgow - I would love a mini greenhouse but so far the plastic bags blown up with a straw method seems to be working!
th_sunsmilie.gifFourth consecutive sunny day down here in Devon yesterday, hoping for a fifth.. Rather chilly though but the washing is drying well being hung outside.

HShungry.gifBreakfast will be toast I suspect...; lunch will be cheese and onion toasties with left over HM salsa from last nights tacos and dinner will be .. well, I hate to admit it but a takeaway! My OH has to go to work earlier than normal so will eat there and so I am going to indulge myself.
I hope everyone's day is as good as it can be for them and that anyone feeling poorly feels better. With love and light and hugs for all.

Hi everyone. After an enforced absence on here due to the big storm we had here last Saturday night, I am finally back online. We lost power briefly but that was soon restored - but the Livebox that connects me to the internet was damaged. Of course, Orange, the IP, insisted I check it on another PC (luckily, I still have an old one), then buy a new cable (which I didn't need!), then they confirmed that I needed a new Livebox which, once they had given me a code, I was able to collect from the local Orange shop straightaway. It took a good few hours to re-install it, then I had to uninstall the parental control bit, which decided that MSE was undesirable (!), and, by midnight, I was back online. I've lost the connection once this morning, though, so I'm not fully confident yet!

Anyway, I haven't had time to read over the last few days on here but will catch up with all the news as and when I can.

I hope everyone is keeping well, but send lots of ((((hugs))) for those who are unwell or anxious.

Donny-Gal - thanks for thinking of me. Jean (Roamin in the Gloamin on here) managed to phone me as soon as the phone went back on, and told me you had posted on the Knit your Square thread). As you can see, we are safe and well here, and the area we live in didn't suffer near as much as the department next door, the Vendee, which has had terrible problems.

Well, another cuppa is calling me so I will call back later.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning :)

It's cold here too but should be sunny once the day gets going. I have been pegging some washing out for the last few days and its drying well. I love the smell of line dried washing.

No course for me today. I have a doctors appointment at 10am then I'm going to see my Mum & Dad for a while. This afternoons job will definitely be ironing as I was too tired yesterday to do it.

Lunch is some leftover sweet & sour with noodles and tea tonight is baked potatoes with whatever filling everyone fancies. Nice and easy :T

I shall also finish todays Flylady list so the house is all nice for the weekend.

Hugs and special love to anyone who is feeling down or poorly at the moment xxx

    Good morning

Sorry again, have been doing too much reading and not enough posting. (((Hugs))) to everyone who is unwell/sad.

    MOAN ALERT!!!

Today is my sons 30th birthday, but unfortunately (for us) 5 years ago he decided he didn't want us in his life anymore. He is married with 3 children (the youngest one we have never seen). Despite attempts to keep in touch with him he says he hasn't got time to talk to us.

Sorry for telling you this, it is just so heartbreaking.

Not much OS going on today, will probably sit with a glass of wine later and my memories.

Creeping off now to get a tissue, I will probably delete this later.

    Morning my lovlies :D

Cold and frosty here again, but its been dry all week :T the garden is starting to dry out at last, I dont think I will get a lot of veg planted in the garden this year, as there is too much to do in the house, but I am going to plant some hanging toms, and maybe some chilli plants, we get through loads of both of these, so should save us some cash.

Work today but I finish early so not too bad, I am doing a carbonara for tea, pobbibly with garlic bread if I have the time.

DD is off into town after school, so that gives me a few hours to get bits done after work, although I may just sit down and have a rest :D

Will do some washing tonight, ready to hang out first thing in the morning.

I also need to pop to Mr T to get some bits, we have my mum and dad and sis and BIL coming for tea on saturday, so need to collect some bits and some wine

Have good days all its Friday :T:T:T

    Good morning everyone,

No, you're not mistaken, it is before 8am and I'm posting!:rotfl:

Diva, I have wee mini propagators on the playroom window ledge to start them off, but being in sunny Scotland, I will need the greenhouse to keep them going. It only cost me £15 from homebase, so I think it will be worth it.

SunnyD Thanks, Coco is great, she is a bit off colour wirh being in season, but still quite happy and ruling the roost. She was very funny last night. OH fell asleep on the couch, and she went up and sat on his lap til he woke up and petted her. I do have a strict no sofa rule, but it was so hilarious I couldn't bring myself to say anything! I keep kidding him about his other woman, it's so funny, she is besotted with him.

OS wise I will be finishing clearing out my kitchen cupboards today, putting something in the SC for dinner, Spag Bol or Chillie I think. I also found a recipe for roasted sweeet potato soup from Prima a few months back which I has kept aside, and there are a few languishing in thebottom of the fridge, so that will be attempted at some point, too.

Later I'm off out, it's beforementioned friend's baby's Christening on Sunday, and I still haven't bought a suitable top, so must do that. OH fancies a new shirt, so might have a look for him, too.

Remmie, {{{hugs}}} to you. As a mum, you have my sympathy, it sounds a bit hypocritical as I haven't spoken to my parents for two years, and I don't care to judge your situation, but I would be heartbroken if that were to happen with my boys.

Hugs to you all, I hope you all have a happy productive day.
