u have to live together and prove it to get couples claim. r any of u unemployed, on jsa, in council housing, with kids? if not, how can u comment? how the hell do u get 5000£ with 5 kids?0
-
well im not a lone parent. different factors involved as well0
-
i will add i am married have 4 kids live in a council house in a nice area where 90% are now privately owned
as a couple we get £100 per week between us jsa
child tax credt £178 per week
child benefit £220 per month
rent £91.per week paid direct to council
council tax £112 per month paid direct to council
on paper sounds good (better than nothing) but still a far cry from what i used to earn0 -
y the hell would i wanna live in central london? i like the village we live in.0

So if i start dating a girl whos unemployed also we will both get more money each week in jsa??
(Each get £100 per week?)
I had always thought that if you say that you've got a girlfriend that you got less money, not more??
if you are living with someone as if in a relationship you get a combined benefit which is more than a single persons jsa but less than 2 single persons jsa. the only way you benefit is if you start knocking out loads of little chavvies.0 -

But as far as i was aware from what i foundout online through the .gov website (which makes it extremely unclear about the process!),
that you still are on JSA and so keep going jobcentre and signing on 2x per month,
with the only difference being that somewhere in the government statistics you are classed as on flexible new deal on paper,
and so you do a 4weeks work placement sometime during the following 6months-12months,
But that apart from that placement the rest of the time its just normal life and normal sigining-on process for those 12months...??
that is how it is as i understand it except you get allocated an advisor within the outside provider who keeps regular contact with you. what that involves exactly i'm not sure. i have heard you have to go and see them at least once a fortnight for a chat about how you are doing.
the funny thing in my case is when my advisor at the jobcentre refered me he just said you will get a phonecall from them sometime in the next 5 weeks. well they wont get through to me as we leave the answer machine on during the day due to the amount of call centres we get pestering us.0 -

when you could instead live in a huge luxury modern apartment in Chelsea or Knightsbridge in central London??!! :rotfl:
are about 10 council places here. rather my kids breathed fresh air than manky air. i hated visiting london on school trips. no idea how u think we could just move to london and not everyone wants to con the system.0 -

They can try doing that to me, but wont get very far as 1stly im going to find the regulation of dwp jsa agreement that states that i have to own a mobile phone or home phone which i have to pay for myself.
If theres no regulation stating that, then im going to politely but assertively ask them to let me know the section and clause of my jsa agreement that states that i have to buy and have a phone.
When they cant give me that clause number i will then just politely say that im happy to have a phone and keep it on me at all times,
but that as its a ''jsa expense'' that i will require them to provide the money for me to buy one.
They can either refuse to,
but then i will be physically unable to get any calls from new deal as wont have a phone,
but will not be able to have any sanctions brought against me though as theres no regulation that says i have to own a phone to claim jsa.
Or they can give me the cash to buy a phone/give me a phone+simcard,
but then if any new deal people try phoning me up at anytime which i haven't pre-arranged and agreeded to be phoned at,
they will be forced to go through my extremely thorough 'security checks' questions answering personal questions about themself until i am satisfied that they are actually who they claim to be.:D
Then in the future they will have to either agree with me well in-advance the time and date which they can phone me,
or will have to just accept that i take my personal data's security extremely seriously (as the dwp and government advises that i should do),
and so will have to put up with my security questionaire every time he phones me! :rotfl::p
i meant they are going to call me to get me started on the course with them. it is odd as in the past a letter has always been sent when starting new deal. with the phoning unfortunately i was stupid enough to give the jobcentre my home phone number one time. i think i slipped up by giving them a copy of my cv that had my number on it. this was in a previous claim and since then when i have had to renew i havent bothered to put my number on the form but they still somehow manage to have my number and call me occasionally. data protection laws being broken there i wonder?
i plan to do something similar to what you suggest when i'm on the course coz if they say they will call me regularly about jobs i will tell them the answer machine is on during the day. if they dont like it i will just say theres nothing i can do its my dads phone and he wants the answer machine on. so i will then say you can provide me with a mobile phone at your expense if you like.0 -

Wouldn't actually live anywhere else apart from here as would just feel weird and cheap living more than 5minutes away form Harrods.
can you meet the dress code?0 -
