I have dealt with several Job Centres in the past three years and I find them all to be very incompetent. I often turn up for appointments to be told there are no record of them! That happens way to often.

i find when they are asked why i have had this or that happen they have a standard reply of its done by the computer. my dad once got refered to 3 six month reviews in 2 months. when he asked why it was like i said. the computer picks names out randomly. yesterday when i got refered to a4e and asked why i couldnt go to the place a bloke i have worked with has been refered to. again it was the computer picked it out randomly.

i will point that i have been unemployed since nov09 so i am not one of the fortunate ones to have a job in fact i have spent the last 2 months trying to find finance to start a small business with no help from the banks family or dwp
i now have to do it the hard way. i used tescos as an example if your desperate for any type of work im sure if you look hard enough you can find something be it full or part time tescos bars cafes and so forth as for the cv it may be ok but the 3 year gap might scare potential employers off (sometimes worth stretching the truth on cv's i found)

thats the problem. you see if you have been out of work a while employers hold it against you. they assume you have automatically become totally useless. so you can apply to everywhere with a great cv and get nowhere. i once got asked by an employer at an interview why i had been out of work so long. i had been out of work for 3 months.

  • I am sorry to hear that you have been out of work for 3 years. But how are you still getting job seekers allowance?.

I have now been out of work for a1 year. Six months of this was on sick pay for haveing an operation to my shoulder. i now have a metal inplant in my shoulder.
and six months on jobseekers. Which has now stopped so i am still unemployed and NOT RECIVING ANY TYPE OF SUPPORT from the government.
My wife works 20 hours a week and gets paid £6.30 ph. (£126 a week) for 2 of us to live on.

The council have just announced that the council tax is to go up by 2.5% making a class D residence £159.50 per month.
The council 10 miles away are increasing their council tax by 1.5% and the band D rate is going up to £126.99 a month. ( £ 30.00 a month differance) an i am going to have to pay this out of my wifes earnings, as i do not have any money of my own to live on.
I also have been told that i will be entitled to this £1000 for the employer.
You are still getting your £64.30 a week as well after 3 years. and i am not reciveing anything at all.
And before anyone say your wife can work longer hours. No she cannot, as my wife is also under the doctors and on loads of medication to be able to the 20 hours a week at hte moment.
We are both in our late 50's so we now know what to expect in a few years time when we retire, If we are not evicted first fornon payment of council tax.
I have had an insureance policy for over 30 years to cover me for any hospitalisation, so i thought that i was covered when i had this operation.
How wrong i was. The insurance company wrote back to me and changed the policy, ( this was the first time that they have done this in all the time that the policy has been running). As a result they didnot pay out.
Get off Your Fat .... And get out to work you idel .......
    Thank you.

my bloke has been unemployed for nearly three yrs and think hes had 1 interview. they keep stopping benefits on a whim when we have no money to pay for council tax/rent etc without them as both unemployed. we have 2 kids under 3 about to start preschool which we are going to be paying 130 ish a mth for our 2 yr old.

the job centre are beyond useless. we go in once a fortnight or every week depending how they feel and he signs on then we go home. waste of time. he went to college to get his gcses that needed for cv but still no job. he applies for everything in paper, shops online, etc everyday/week.

depending on who u c each time u go they tell u something different aswell.
