I can't wear socks in bed. Actually, in bed I wear nothing, except a smile.:)

Me too. :) Actually, I'm convinced that, when not alone, its warmer to be naked under the covers, quicker and more direct transference of body heat.

Otherwise wrapping up is probably warmer.

If you've got a double duvet - lay it down, lay on one side of it, pull the other half over you. Nice n snug .... and if you're bigger .... get two duvets instead. Wrapping up in a duvet, like in a sleeping bag is soooo hot.

A mate of mine, put 2 duvets in 1 cover & used to sleep like that.

He told me it was everso warm!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

The other sleeping alone tip is to sleep between two fleece blankets, between your sheets, fleece never gets as cold as the cotton and warms up quicker.....it just feels a little sordid for some reason, but when its cold I'm prepared to be sordid.

Why not use an electric underblanket then?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    OK, two reasons.

    1. I have heard they increase the risk of ''female'' cancers.

    2. I used to have a korean? one made of jade that got REALLY hot. It was amazing. I got seriously and weirdly addicted to it, having it on top whack, drenching the sheets with sweat (water and electricity...nice mix) and still seemingy unable to turn it down. I had the windows open wide, in sub zero temperatures with nothing but a sweat drenched sheet over me, steaming. All very unhealthy, seriously unattractive and rather worrying.

TBH one is probably already cancelled out by two for me...it was a weird fortnight or so. Eventually the jade blanket gave me an electric shock then died. :o

Another tip from me - when you're sitting on the sofa, with your feet up and under a blanket - chuck a pillow or two over your feet ... super toasty. And, always wear socks.

I recently developed slipper love after having hated them all my life. Slippers over socks are really warm. :) I have a duvet on the sofa and I'm toasty now apart from my hands :)

That's where touch-typing wins - you can have the keyboard under the duvet too as you don't need to look for the letters :)

If my keypad were under the duvet so would my screen be!

I currently have two summer quilts on my bed, one a double, one a single and amazingly, it is warmer than having one winter quilt with a blanket on top.

And I sleep with a nightie and a smile....used to be just the smile until the boys starting wandering during the night
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
