could it be one of the neighbours has contacted a councillor? Looks like it may be time to do some lobbying?
Yes and yes.
Invite the neighbours in for a pre-Xmas drink and show them your plans. It will sound less invasive when they see it in print - hopefully.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When I drive into Watford I now wonder whether that woman in the car taking the underpass to the Harlequin centre is silvercar, and whether carolt is in the car that stopped short without getting there.
When I go to my favourite Asda I wonder if that's michaels with the trolley with the kids hanging off it.
When I think of bookstores I wonder if that was jelly standing next to me looking at the same books.
And I think of when DH was at uni in Brighton and when I ever went into fc's shop and chatted to her.
When I think back to my time studying with the OU, I wonder if tomterm8 stood at the back of the class, waiting for his dad.
When I think back to my days of visiting the Ladies Pond in Hampstead, I wonder if lir was one of the naked swimmers.
Then there's all the ssss, who apparently once went out with a woman that looks like me.
Now I'm wondering if it was Pastures New who pulled all the gorgeous blokes in the Hertfordshire nightclubs I'd hang out in during the late 70s.
Oh, and whether dopester is really my brother, who when Russia invaded Afghanistan was so concerned for the safety of the family that he disappeared for several hours and tried to build a nuclear bunker.

I drive past bus stops in the area where carol is now living and every time I see a mother standing with a boy of about 5 I'm convinced its carol. I want to open the window and ask her why she's not been on here for a month.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. UK but thermostat and central heating.
Took the plans to all the neighbours for a chat before even submitting. Just wondered if this 'calling in' is some say for a mate of a councillor to try and get something turned down even though it is completely within the normal parameters?PasturesNew wrote: »Is michaels not in the UK then?? Wish it was 22 degrees in my house...my bedroom is at 15 degrees!
Had my work focused interview today (sorry for possibly confusing some people, it is a job centre thing and not an interview for a job), everything stays the same but she has offered to do a better off in work thingy for me, despite me telling her that being better off is not actually top of my list and a small decrease in overall monies received would be ok.
She also checked to make sure I am claiming DLA and have a blue badge, to which I answered "Er, nope, they are for disabled people"...think I confused her as I now have to walk with a crutch at all times but don't see myself as disabled, she couldn't quite get her head around it.
I also expressed my concerns about the ever growing gap in my working record but she told me not to worry as employers would see I haven't been idle due to doing the counselling course, the ECDL and now the degree.....I don't believe her to be honest, I still think it is going to be a huge hurdle. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Talking of work.... what happened to all that Felixstowe Docks shower that'd argue day in and day out?
I can't even remember who they were... but I remember they'd be taking the mick out of pickles
Are they working/on the dole now?0 -
02:44 and I just went to stand in the outside porch for 5 minutes. It's snowing. Snow, snow, snow. It's tinkling as it lands, so a bit icy, but it's definitely layers and layers of pure white snow. All falling, almost silently, almost vertically.
Unusual here, very unusual.
We'd be snowed in if we weren't right in town. If it keeps this up town'll be almost snowed in tomorrow and I'll be able to slither round to the shop and be almost the only person in there
I just checked the beach cam and the beach is white.0 -
Snow here too, falling ever soooo gently. Looks pretty.0
