22 degrees is too warm for me. Makes me feel independent. Cold weather gets me huddling. :) I'm already huddling with davesnave and lotus eater et al on the smallholding thread we have.

Sorry, rather sad circumstances caused us to leave the smallholding and go on a journey today. :(

Still, I knew where I'd still be able to raise a smile, and here's the proof:

Not much snow there, but almost enough to sledge on around Bridport.

Here's the background to the picture:

Davesnave - Hehe.....and you mentioned Bridport, I love Bridport, the site where we went on holiday to for 20 years is just down the road from there (between West Bay and Burton Bradstock).

So many happy years from our years spent there and every year we say we are going to go back but a fair few of those happy years involved my now ex husband and I can't quite convince myself to go back as it makes me all upset.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Is there any irony in the fact that my Iglo is melting?

I recently tried to re-mortgage my Iglo however, 'ICICI' siad that i didn't have the appropriate home insurance cover. Something to do with 'water and electricity DO NOT mix' - what ever that means?

Does anyone have a spare few buckets or saucepans going on Gumtree that they could FedEx me for free. I have a 'little' leak.

Have fun peeps and remember 'we are all in this together!'

Time for a bit of fishing i think... ---> 'Gone Fishing'

Btw i love the photo above 'Shitterton' - Class! Just searching a popular and well known search engine (as i will get in trouble for 'endorsing' it) for 'similar' 'places of interest' with 'unique' names. What a chuckle, has made my day. Much love. *ESKIMO Nose Kiss*

I've been busy for a few days and had three or four pages of "nice people" thread to catch up on. Can't reply to everything but here are a few comments.

About being cold... I'm always cold. Late-nearly-ex was always hot. We used to sleep with a thin double duvet over both of us and an extra single one just over my side. It worked brilliantly. DK are both like their dad, always warm, hardly ever wearing anything like as many clothes as me. It's cold outside here, but not too bad inside the house. We had a little snow this morning but not much. I absolutely endorse the suggestion (sorry can't remember who made it) about sleeping in the middle of a folded double duvet. I only occasionally resort to that in the house, but it's my standard strategy in the caravan and definitely works.

About new people... I don't remember lisalovesabargain or Eskimo on here before. Have I missed saying hello and welcome to them??

About my house... I have been in to see my solicitor and handed over a cheque for the deposit yesterday. There's a small matter to resolve about persuading the vendors to pay for an indemnity because of not having any building regs for the conservatory that they built in 2003 (or indeed the 1980s extension that was there when they bought the house), and then we hope to exchange some time next week and complete in the first week or two of the New Year.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Great news Lydia! A New Year in a new home will be great way for you and the children to open a new page in your lives. :)

Like a few others of us here, you've travelled quite a long road....;)

I have a cousin who lives in BB. Unfortunately, he's a dour Scot and I find it difficult to maintain a conversation with him. :(

Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens are well worth a visit, but I'm afraid the coast and scenery there don't do much for me. FC thinks it's great though. Just as well we don't all go for the same things, eh?

Wonder how FC is getting along? Perhaps her stuff is doing so well, the beach house could become a reality. :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm so cold I don't know why I washed my hair last night but it certainly isn't warming me up still damply hanging about on the back of my head.

Today is a house day I think, we're going to put the heating on and do some more unpacking.

we wanted to get a christmas tree but I've been so shocked by prices I don't think I can face it. Bombay the feral needs to go back to the vet this week and thats more important than a tree.

Get a Xmas Tree closer to the time, they'll have the sales on before Xmas no doubt, like last year - and you can snap one up at something daft ike 50-70% off the weekend before Xmas.

I did spot 3 good 2nd hand ones for sale about a month ago in a charity shop - so might be worthwhile checking those out if you're passing, to tide you over. And you can always use it next year as the animals' Xmas tree.
