Risk is a great game PN.
There is a pc version (actually, there are at least 2).
Here you are
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hasbro-Risk-II-PC/dp/B00004UBQJ
There is info here, & you used to be able to download it, but no longer I'm afraid
http://www.download-free-games.com/risk_game_download/risk2.htmIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I prefer Monopoly to Risk. In fact Risk is my least favourite board game.
Anyone tried Poleconomy? It is meant to be like Monopoly but you build empires rather than property.
Just noticed the wiki definition:
The game is unusual in its mirroring of real-world businesses for which it has licenses to use their trademarks. It also illustrates how political events such as government decisions and taxation affect the economy. The players take turns at being the Prime Minister or President through elections. Once in power they have the ability to dictate the levels of inflation and so increasing or decreasing rents for property owners. If a player cannot cover their rent, the debt is written off and they can continue, receiving a government salary; no-one becomes bankrupt. According to the rules the game ends when the central bank runs out of money.

You can download a 60 min trial version of Risk II at Cnet. If you want to keep it, you pay $19.99, which is less than amazon. Still rather expensive for a game published 10 years ago.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I don't do "paying for things from t'Internet". Least of all games.0

I know you can buy packs of Trivia, because I wrote something about it once - as an idea for people to start their own business putting on pub quiz nights.0

If anyone is interested, I've posted a dilemma re jobs on the employment board.0
-
My very first full-time job, I accepted the job on the spot, at the interview - then the next day was offered another one, which was nearer to home (only 6 miles, not 7, so 1 less mile to cycle) and it was more money and in a nicer office.
So I called the first one to say I wouldn't be joining them and they were really nasty about it. Right bullies, good job I didn't ever work for them.0 -
I don't bother to job hunt, takes all day and a lot of cost/effort.... and I just come 2nd as I will always say something stupid in answer to their confusing questions. So now I don't bother. Lost all confidence nowadays, so I just stay in and do my thing online.
And everybody wants a vibrant, team-player ..... I'm not one of those, I'm a perfectionist/hard worker... nobody seems to want people that can do jobs these days, they just want facebook friends.0 -

I am very much a team player but I also like to lose myself in complex problems...I am not vibrant though.
I too am a perfectionist and hard worker, very commited to whatever I am doing but like you, find I come second in things because I don't do the pally pally, let's go to the nightclub sort of thing.
I would be the one grumbling in the corner whilst everyone else was talking about the latest skirt/blouse/makeup/hunk on TV/soaps, I just thought it was very inefficient and could wait until our work had been completed or we had a break.
Work time is for working, break time is for talking about silly things.
But, one thing my colleagues could always rely on me for, was not running out of the building at finish time (my last employment was very strict about leaving on time as it was night time hours)...I would always muck in so that we could all finish at the same time and leave our desks clear of our set work.
They also knew they could rely on me for the bits of information everyone else would forget, procedures which was outside of our remit but was handy to know to make sense of the files, wading my way through very complex charges/delivery addresses and for helping them out with the very illogical computer programme to make it more efficient (they followed like sheep the 'steps' for filling in the various screens which meant they were jumping from one screen to another and then back to the first one and then to the one they were on before etc, which allowed mistakes and omissions to creep in....I simplified the process into an efficient one which made sense and virtually stopped the mistakes and omissions)
But they were not so keen on my independent, non sheep like mentality because it meant I didn't agree with them that all bikers were criminals (I had been a biker in my youth), all rock fans were druggies etc and I couldn't care two hoots about the latest hunk on TV.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
