    Hello :).

...the woodburner was declared unsafe this week. I only wanted the flue swept :(. Its about to get mighty cold to, innit?

Hi lir, it's good to have you back. Again, I have one person on here who understands holes in roofs and dodgy heating systems as a way of life!:)

Our Aga was deemed unsuitably installed and the chimney sweep groaned a lot when he discovered the set up, but we just shrugged and bought a carbon monoxide alarm. After all, both woodburner & Aga draw properly and they've been used for years.

People just want to cover their back these days. :(

'Controlled chaos.' Yup, can relate to that, but it is slightly more controlled this year. We have permanent sleeping bags on the sofas.;)

Yep. agree about covering back...but we havn't used this, its had some dead birds drop back.....I'm concerned about chimney fires. Its a woodburner in an inglenook, that we want idel to restore if possible. There is another fire, probably an inglenook, plastered over back to back with it too, we want to open that too, obviously. I'm not that keen on inglenooks personally. But its the card we were dealt!

yep! Some pretty miserable plums and damsons (now gone over) and three apple trees. A press must be ace! I've failed miserably on bringing fruit in with so much else to do. I have a couple of kilos of blackberries frozen and four litres of apple juice done in the normal jucier...tedious! There are so many sloes here that its a shame I don't know many gin drinkers...do you drink gin? If so why not come after the frosts for sloes? :)

Ooh, what a lovely surprise to have you back, lir! :)

As you can see, we're only on page 230-something - the Nice People thread sometimes even drops off the front page.;) WE NEED YOUR HELP! :)

rofl. I'll do my best. should be about this week a bit. Need to read small business stuff a bit.

Today included finding a squab by its killed parent, another boring old tree being felled and chopped up and just now discovering dh has headed to B&Q locking me out of the house:(. lucky some of our window putty is so dodgy I could remove a pane to allow me access back in! (doubt squab will make it tbh, birds are dificult).

I have 24 hours to write about boutique hotels.... I don't even know what one is. Did a Google, they seem to be "posh, pretentious, overpriced places with little furniture - possibly shoving the eco label and organic stuff in your face".

I can't muster enthusiasm for that .... I'll probably pull 3 out of the non-descript writing bag though :(

First one I found is about £400/night :(

Maybe I should run up there now and press my nose against the window ..... and see what posh people do in hotels, so I can invent the right words.
