Jazz & eating - never been able to do that one!
Summer was fun! Longleat (I managed to do the maze! I got me a medal!) I visited Caenarfon, and Rhyl (goodness, Rhyl has gone downhill). Portmeirion - such a lovely place & day out. There was a brass band playing. It was glorious! Hastings, and Battle (loved the battlefield & abbey, and a museum called yesterdays world). The black country living museum (naturally). Torquay & paignon (lovely seaside times). Wonderful.
My mp3 player broke, but that is insignificant news in contrast yto your auntie. I'll get a new one for my birthday next month.
Josh Ritter is a phenomenal talent lir! Lyrically he is one of the best I have heard in a long time, & his live shows are always something to behold. He really bonds with an audience! Saw him the first time when he supported Joan Baez.
I need to sort out my posh clobber, as I'm off to see this soon http://www.thsh.co.uk/view/the-planets-an-hd-odyssey
I've always, always wanted to go to Portmeirion...it looks so fab. I'm glad you had such a good time. Its DH's auntie. TBH, she's going to be in a position to not need it soon. I never figured it out. Its no loss to me but changes her daily existance atm. I figure I have enough to keep me busy.
An annoyance here, a big annoynce, is I can't pick up radio downstairs. OK I can get fuzzy local BBC  and one terrible local commercial station. No decent radio. Digital (I borrowed one) does work. Borrowed one laso showed me how battery/energy heavy the digital was.0 -

I'm still in mourning for my tomato plants.
Anyone aware of what to do with way too many cucumbers? I have heard there is something you can cook/bake, the basis of which is cucumbers. I can't figure out for the life of me what it is - other than putting them in salads/on sandwiches, I've always felt them to be a little inflexible in their use...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Bob Flowerdew does them with old tryes doesn't he? Overlapping the tyres so giving little planting spaces in the walls too, for strawberries or herbs. we're having similar issues. So mush expense. Sadly the ground we want to use for has a track running through and I suspect the surrounding area (under all the grass and weeds) is serious rocky and that raised beds would be a good ''cheat''. we are seriously considering taking down a barn wall, made of sleepers to further this end.0 -

tzatziki? Cucumber soup. Freezing little slaps in ice for cool bloody marys.
I love cucumber. I sometimes eat half a cucumber for lunch. My own lunches are a little basic in prep.:o0 -
@viva What a great set up for the rest of the season. I'm rooting for Alonso tomorrow :T
I'm rooting for Alonso too. Looks like its going to be a cracker of a race, both in terms of Massa coming through from the back and in terms of all top 5 racers being in the top 5, but out of position.
I wouldn't be upset if Webber took the title this year though.BTW did you know LJ is a bloke?
Until "he" made that comment I was 80% sure he was male and 95% white and 95% between 30 and 50 years old. It's purely because you can tell a lot about someone by the books they read. Jelly has already confirmed age, so I was right on that. I have met plenty of women that read the same types of books as jelly but mostly they are men, that's why my uncertainty was 20%. Then the comment made me put that at 5%. The people reading jelly's types of books are almost always white though, as they are about white people. I've yet to meet a black or asian person with an interest in Jack the Ripper, though I'm sure they exist, somewhere. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
