I'm not doing any tests.
I've not long returned from delivering DD2 to her new student abode, and I'm knackered. Somehow, the dear child (she's 21) managed to fill our 3.5 tonne van and find a room large enough to take all her paraphenalia. Mind you, a 6' two-storey ferret hutch and two new dustbins did quite a bit of the filling. The landlord seemed surprised that Eric ferret wasn't going to live indoors, because one of his other students, two doors down, has a pet rat in her room. It had better not meet Eric.;)
So....a 250 mile round trip in something as much fun to drive as a bus, two hours of unpacking, two trips to PC World, an hour setting up a ferret hutch, another hour sorting the computer & TV, and a full shop in Sainsburys....I think that should be enough for me to qualify for test exemption, especially as I'll probably be back there next week doing the odd jobs the landlord 'didn't quite get round to' in the summer break. Well, they never do, do they?0 -

It's fab not having stuff lurking around that one day will need moving. In my next house I'd like to just have one beanbag sofa, built in wardrobes and a breakfast bar. And laminate/wood flooring with some cheery rugs.
I do hate furniture really.0 -

My flat mate had one when I rented a room in Sydney for a while. The kids used to love it when I'd throw them across the room onto it!0 -
A quick message for pobby...
Morning pobby. I noticed that you'd thanked a post or two this morning (not following you honest). Last time I saw you on line was months ago and I know you said you hadn't been feeling well. I hope that you are ok and just wanted to say it was good to see you back around these parts. If you get a chance, please drop in and say hi.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Its having girls, DS1 went back with one suitcase, one holdall with stationary and books, one stereo, one laptop bag, one bin bag with bedding and towels, another bin bag with duvet and pillows, one set of weights, one shopping bag of toiletries and one of essential foods.
All in the boot of OHs car. 200 miles each way.
After last years nonsense when each house mate arrived with a toaster etc (and nothing came back at the end of the year), I suggested that they buy everything there and get Argos/ Tesco to do one delivery of what they need between them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've just finished reading 2 books on Trafalgar:

I did have a 3rd type of related book, but that'd be too much for me to go with. So I've moved onto this:
I spent most of last year reading tons of Jack the Ripper books, & have been building a collection of unread JtR books to have a reading splurge on later this year. Does you good to have a break methinks...;)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
