It's your money WS and if you can afford it, then go for it! I'm such a miser that I could never spend that much on a skirt (I think £30 is too dear) but then that is me and we are all different....plus I am one who has gone to Prague, Italy and Denmark for speedway meetings  (in my previous well off life of course).
So if it makes you happy and you can afford it, then why the hell not.
Re music tastes - rock music, classical music, trance and some current chart stuff (only because it is the music of choice of eldest!)
On the cat front, the kids are a lot happier now. We talked for a while, went through our funny memories of her and youngest has finally stopped crying and middle son got him laughing at some jokes. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
So glad you and the boys are ok Sue. Sorry you've had a sh*tty day so soon after coming back from holiday. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Musical tastes? Well, there's The Who..... I am personally indebted to them, and Pete Townshend in particular, for writing stuff that speaks to me, but there's a fairly eclectic mix on my shelves, stretching through Hendrix, The Floyd and Fleetwood Mac to Sarah Mc Laughlan, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.
The only music I'm likely to switch off is Country & Western, Rap, Hip Hop and anything heavily chart orientated. Of course, I have no aversion to the same kind of pop from my 'own' teenage era, as the tracks have beaten a path through my synapses, complete with pictures and even smells from those formative years, which make them more of a rounded experience.
I also have a fondness for Neil Innes's parodies, including the Rutles.
Hmmm, nothing very mellow there, though I did once help to run a folk club of the 'not holding one hand to ear and bellowing' variety.:)0 -
Wasn't long ago a few of us used to post a few youtube tunes on here or NPT1 on a Friday night.
I like loads of different music but led zepp and guns n roses still do it for me :j0 -
So sad about your cat, Sue, but you did the only right thing since she was suffering so badly. Glad you and the boys are being able to pull together through this.
We are finally home from hospital. The op went ok but it was a very long day. I've now got them both off to sleep and am off out to clean the sick out of the car. Will be back on here in a little while when it's done.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

I'll certainly go with classics in the car, as rock does nothing for my driving. Perhaps not things like the William Tell Overture, though!0 -

Me too.
My MP3 player is full of all sorts of very varied stuff across the decades. (My teenage son likes the very latest as well as music going waaay back and knows about stuff I don't even remember. He's right chuffed at the moment as he just ordered the new Saturdays CD single and being one of the first 100 to place an order through their website, received a personally signed copy.)
I have one or two very special favourites but love so much more. It really depends what mood I am in.
When I'm exercising, it's thump thump dance music. I've just been listening to some great U2 dance versions.

OK, car sorted, kids both asleep, now for a little computer time before I go to sleep myself.
We were in hospital altogether for just over 11 hours. We waited nearly four hours until they called him to go into theatre, and then the operation itself was a bit over an hour. He was very upset and argumentative when he came round, shouting that the painkillers weren't working, and demanding lots of water to drink (when he was only allowed a little). They had to give him quite a lot of morphine before he stopped crying about the pain in his arm, and then it was hours before the morphine wore off enough for me to take him home. If I hadn't had my other child to worry about, I'd have opted for him to stay in overnight, but I didn't want to impose on the friends who'd got her for the day (and whose house is rather small and doesn't really have space for her to stay over). With my three closest friends away on holiday, my brothers and in-laws too far away, my mum too ill and my dad with plenty to do caring for Mum, I was running out of options for someone to have her overnight, so when they gave me the option of bringing him home I took it. He said if he had to sit up in the car for a half hour drive then he would be sick, and he was, but then he felt better and is now peacefully sleeping.
Anyway, the metalwork is all out, and the surgeon was pleased with how it went, and we are all home now. I'm hoping for a nice quiet day tomorrow while he watches lots of DVDs!Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
