Goodness Lydia, you and Sue have both had a difficult time today!

At least DS is on the mend properly now, the summer holiday still has weeks to run and, who knows, maybe there will be good news for you on the house front before too long. Lets hope so.:)

    No.

If you can justify it to yourself then there is no price limit :A

Once upon a time, I worked in "fashion" - well someone had to organise the "logistics".

I had this nagging feeling that I was just a parasitic con man getting women to spend twice as much on clothing as men do. Though I can see a certain fascination in playing Barbie Dolls with real lithe female bodies.

As to the skirt, there is less material, but it kind of reminds me of a kilt I wore to a Scottish wedding (hired for 50 quid with all the trimmings, if I remember correctly).

Lydia and Sue, hope you have more positive days. Chocolate all around.

PS its not such an unearthly hour here, I'm on holiday and too hot to sleep and if I put the air conditioning on it will wake everyone else up!

    hi all,

wageslave, dearie, I fall to my knees & worship the ground you walk on, but in the words of Arkwright, "HOW MUCH?!?!"
    open1b.jpg

Seriously, personally I couldn't justify that. I'm actually part way through a 5 year plan to buy no new clothes, as I have so much, & don't wear diddly squat out. In October, it'll have been 2 years, & I'll have got rid of very little.

That said, what value of happiness will it bring you? That is the kind of question to ask. You know how hard you have to work for your wedge. How many hours, after tax, would you have to work to earn that cash. Once you've worked that out, you'll be closer to knowing if it is too much.

(PS will you wear it with THOSE boots?:D)

Music, where to start. I have about 4000 cd's in my collection, & some vinyl too. Way too eclectic to list. I have a wierd thing where whatever I'm listening to, no-one has ever heard of. That said, I'd bet there's a strong chance I've got at least 1 cd in common with everyone else on here.

    Back soon I hope!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

When I was young, I bought a total of three 45s and had one album for Xmas.
When I left a job in about 1989 I was given some music vouchers, I bought my first/only CDs with those... about 5 of them. I no longer have any CDs as I got rid of those when I had my big declutter three years ago.
When I bought my car in 2001, I went into a music shop, walked out with a cassette tape ... and I never bought another one, just listened to that one in the car all the time (9 years).

    I'm not really into music.

Never had any collections of: records, tapes, CDs, DVDs.

I'm staggered when I see some people's huge collections ... surely a 4000 CD collection must be £10 on average each, so £40k on CDs!!!!!!
