Where do you get your energy from, then, wageslave?

Nothing slow on the uptake about you...

if david cameron had started this thread it would be called "the big society". we would all be volunteers who contributed our free time and energy on behalf of the community.

now, doesn't that fill you with a warm glow :)

It does, because funnily enough (ignoring Cameron) I do think of myself as volunteering for the greater social good, to some degree, on here.

It's part of why I put up with the downsides of this place.

Glad to see we're back at the chocolate. :)

Is everyone else as astoundingly busy as me at the moment?

Me....and going through a severe lifestyle adjustment at the same time....things like living with my OH F/T again, living in my own house (which seems to need masses of work doing everywhere I look), losing 2+ hours per day commuting though, as I am quite tall, I don't have to nestle under other peoples armpits too often..they nestle under mine instead.
What else? I have creative block and am clogged up with admin minutae, had an extremely important buyer from a very prestigious mini chain come up to the studio (actually, 3 of them came, all glossy and groomed) whose shock at our micro MSE (but soulful and creative) setup plus the fact that we aren't 23yr old zippy bright young things could be seen on their faces. Got a big order though.

There's loads more but I don't want to depress myself writing it all out...makes it feel too real.

    How's everyone here?

I am guessing LIR has moved now.

I also need a serious image makeover as working from home the past year dressed in yoga pants and white vest isn't quite cutting it as work uniform in Spitalfields.

Eating? I seem to have lost about 6lb in 2 weeks...must be all the running up and down escalators.

I don't eat chocolate. Well I do in the middle of the night when no one is looking.

    Then it doesn't count

Am I the only woman who doesn't eat?

    Honestly
I eat a lot of certain things...never choc though. Mostly raw things.:o

I'm going through the phase of disliking my job and looking to jump but nothing to jump to. Career change anyone?

Will the dislike pass do you think or do you have to start some serious forward planning?

I am not sure if it is just me but I feel seriously out of step with the rest of the world at the moment.

I hate to drag other threads in here but jeeeeeeeeeesus wept. Does the whole bliddy country think it is entitled to a free ride?

It has to be symptomatic of something other than my bliddy age.

    Surely?

Everyone I work with (staff & students/potential students) are equally under the same perception that they should be given all sorts of stuff, but not have to pay for anything.

A common response (when told they have to pay something) is "I'm on benefits".

Someone didn't like it the other day when I tiold them that is what their benefits are for - to pay for stuff...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
