I usually have zero patience but it has taken us three years to sell our house and we have been "camping out" in a neighbour's vacant house for nearly two months so we did not lose our sale.
Nothing suitable came up for us to buy (for some strange reason did not fancy the house overlooking the cemetary, or the one that floods twice a year and is next to a football pitch and the bypass).
Saw a house that had come up for sale on Tuesday, viiewed it Thursday, put in an offer yesterday morning - rejected- put in another offer saying it was on the table for them to consider for about a week but that it was the best we could do.
Got a phone call around 11a.m.today and they have acccepted the offer!!!

Can't wait to move in and get settled. It has a garden!!!! A garage!!! Ensuite bathrooms!! Utily room! Cloakroom!!
The excitement is because we have spent 21 years in an Edwardian town house with none of the above , lost a house we loved because we could not sell ours a couple of years ago but did not want a new build etc and nothing was coming on the market.
I'm so excited I'm in a daze."This site is addictive!"

I can see wall in our bedroom...It must mean we are nearing the end of the stash of books and other small items...first wall sighting has been under the big chest of drawers. We found three boxes of wine at the very back.
Does any one else find the worst bit is not clearing the bulk of stuff, but the odds and sods? The top shelf in the wardrobe for example, is now free of books, but there is a ligh shade, a pretty crushed hat, a bottle in a box (haven't yet identified what it is) some odds an ends of paperwork, and a dozen or so other unidentified things.
Also, unbelievably considering how much this room alone has has taken out of it because every thing has come out of its ''place'' and is all in the middle it gets harder and harder to navigate the room.0 -

Absolutely! I got so exasperated that rather than chucking it out I said to myself I'd sort it out when I got to the new house. Four years on and its still in boxes in the loft, waiting to be chucked. If its not sentimental or going to be of some use in the future be brutal lir, don't make the mistakes I did:o.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? LOL, I know you are right.
sigh.
We are behind schedule, and DH has had some work come in, and I can't reack the bottle to see what it is, or the other shelves running down the right hand side (behind a trunk, which has in turn behind it, a sewing machine table and more boxes.
All the surfaces are cluttered too..:o0 -

I put away the breadmaker instructions and the hand written recipe book for Weezl's lentil pate,Twink's hobnobs, etc etc when we moved stuff over six weeks ago.
I put it an an antique desk thinking no one would touch it there- it's gone!!!!! and I still can't find it "This site is addictive!"

Elona, its frustrating isn't it! I was packing my spare shoes last night, and I got a bit grumpy because I keep all my shoes in their shoe boxes, (like cds) and Like CDs, they STILL get mixed up...dh is a demon for putting cds in wrong boxes..but doesn't explain my shoes. Annoyingly I cannot find a beautiful pair of LK Bennett black shoes....my only really smart black shoes nowadays. I did manage though to ut DH's shoes in pairs, instead of rolling around in a random groups.
edit: the bottle was champagne!0 -

I really want to do boot sale. We've been side tracked by one of the very few pieces of schoolwork I still have. It was a book review, and DH and I are !!!!ing our selves with laughter at my nine year old self warning the book isn't suitable for ''nervous readers''....0

lir: how far away are you? I'd love to keep you company for a boot sale.
OH won't let us do a boot sale, I normally end up slinging a large bag at charity shops, furniture gets collected by freecycle/ymca and everything odds and sods get freecycled. They must love us in the locality. We've given away stereo systems, ipod docks, guitars, crates of books. My heart breaks when I think of how much money we could have sold some of that stuff for.
