GRRRRRRRRRR. Mortgage brokers now saying 25% cash down isn't enough on what we wanted to bid on today. We really, really need to keep some cash back to a: start building and b: live somewhere in the mean time. :( It all works out very nicely on multiples too. :( Not sure what to do about it now. :(

How frustrating. I'm so sorry to hear that.
Did they give any reasons? What kind of deposit and multiple are they now saying they want?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Time for a new whip round - if we can do 2 weeks in a caravan in Norfolk then I don't see why we shouldn't get lir's deposit up to 40% - put me down for 20k.

    rofl. Nice attempt!

You can all pay for you're own booze if we have an MSE house warming though.

we can actually juggle things to in excess of 40 % for this purchase but it seems that might not be enough either. Our finances are really complicated for this, because...well...its complicated. :o Its not a residential purchase.

They are saying they'd rather not full stop!

we could borrow for more than this on a standard residential property.

Try a different bank or a mortgage broker.

I have spent the last frakking hour trying to verify my paypal account.

Two small amounts have been paid into your bank account. Nope, not according to my online banky thingy (which incidently took me forever to log into).

In desperation, I actually went to the ATM. The dog at least is happy. Ooooooh another walk Mummy, weren't we just out five minutes........ Never mind, I'll get my lead.

I give up. It is all a scam to get you on direct bliddy debit anyway.

I've had a paypal account for years and verified it through my credit card originally. Then they changed the t&C and want it verified through my bank account. As well. I've never done that. I would never give paypal access to my current account and I would never set up a direct debit with paypal.

Hasn't stopped me paying by credit card through paypal or receiving .

;-0.....that's outrageous. What about PM 'ing someone like Conrad?

It's so gutting that the bar is raised but in another way...1st crazy high prices and now, more restricted lending.

By somewhere to live do you mean whilst a new house is built? A moby home? Is that practical? PN has been researching it recently.

    Absolutely - seconded.

We ran a paypal acct for years that wasn't verified ie linked to a bank acct - no problems withdrawing money.

Evening! :) Logged on to get the low down on what miracle turn around labour had made since announcing the election date, which I assumed I had missed.....

    ....but nothing?!
Really, really odd then that my town is absolutely covered in labour window posters, stickers, and those flag boards- like for sale sign things- stuck in the garden.

I have been genuinely amazed. Seen 1 tory garden sign. 30+ labour. I really quite dislike the local labour candidate, so I'm a bit peed off TBH :D
