    Hehe....

I can't remember when we started the staying over night in a local hotal thing but I think we had children...so anytime from 1994 really and it wasn't every year.

We finally had the honeymoon we had not managed (apart from 3 days in Belgium as drivers mates in seperate lorries - long story involves hubby chickening out of jabs for our booked honeymoon to Tunisia and only telling me the day before our wedding) after 13 years of marriage..but we took the children.

One anniversay, hubby booked the bridal suite in a posh hotel 5 mins from my parents (where the children were staying overnight), had the champagne on ice, lovely meal etc and then woman things ruined everything (which means that was prior to 2002)! He was not a happy chicken at all.....I was even unhappier as it wasn't supposed to happen!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Just caught up with ca's holiday plans and i was going to suggest Prague.

Seeing that's been addressed, have you thought of nice?

I haven't been but it sounds "nice" and isn't it ironic ;)

How about something MSE in the UK maybe? No airport stress, quicker journey time. Sailing in Weymouth? Hiking on the Brecon Beacons? Brighton is fun too.

We did think of that, but (a) we do that every other year (well, mainly, like Sue, nice local hotels so we don't waste time on travelling, or London ones so we can enjoy a rare theatre etc trip too, but we have loads of family holidays in the UK - been to Cornwall, Dorset, Suffolk, Cotswolds, Lake District, Peak District and N Wales in recent years... and I miss Europe and (b) given the cost of UK hotels/meals out, it's not necessarily that mse... ;)

No, I'm currently watching Lionel Messi take apart Arsenal on his own. I'd like to eat at The Fat Duck too.

You could eat at a Little Chef instead? I believe he's done the new menu. Maybe not quite the same.

I've eaten at Heston Little chef. The mains were lovely but not to die for, the puddings a little disappointing frankly. I'd happily eat there again, which is good because I almost certainly shall.....its on the way home to th West Country from London.

Y'know, I don't think I've ever eaten at a Little Chef in my life. I never even seem to see them that much, and I used to travel about quite a lot for my job. Are they proper national or more centred around a certain region?

I did think of it, actually...

But from recollection, it wasn't quite as 'nice' as it sounds... :D
