I am signed up to freecycle but 2nd hand bedding? Are you sure people want it?

Yup, people use the for pet bedding etc. Ask around animal shelters too, they take second hand duvets and all sorts.

Anything will go on freecycle. Half used tins of paint, old kitchen worktops. The brighton group is now called green cycle sussex (part of the freegle network http://www.ilovefreegle.org/)

Seconded - people really do take second-hand bedding; whether for pet use (hadn't occured to me) or personal use I couldn't say.

Odd things, like second-hand shoes and yes, the half-used bottles of shampoo, do go.

We've passed on: unused jars of babyfood (not open!), coffee table, sofabed..

We've received: kids' swing attachment thing (cost £100's new), overdoor dryer racks, a journalism course (one day, when I have time :)), football goals...

Can't remember, loads of stuff, both ways. Great way to clear space and also get stuff you were going to buy anyway.

    Tell me more.

Have you any idea how much hassle it is listing stuff on E Bay?
Photos, descriptions, clicking button after bliddy button then losing the whole lot and having to start again.

Then you have to parcel it up and queue behind umpteen pensioners at the post office.

I am beginning to remember why I didn't bother doing it before:cool:

EDIT I have three watchers now. It is good to know there are officially three people in the country sadder than me

Re charity shops and bedding, my ex mother in law volunteers for a charity shop and if they get bedding in, she will go through it to find the decent stuff and then pass it along to me (giving a cash donation to the shop of course).

That has been very very handy for quilts when eldest decided he wanted to have one quilt on the bottom, one to wrap around him and one to go over the whole blooming lot!

It has also been handy in the winter when we were looking for quilts to have over us in the front room to keep warm, nice cover sewn around and it becomes a luxurious throw for the sofas!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I love charity shops. I could spend hours in them.

They are almost as good as second hand book shops.

You would have loved our vintage business...it was soooo exciting unearthing gems amongst all the textile waste.
I still have a 1950's Scottish cashmere collection.

I will put anyone who asks me anything technical on the banned buyers list.

If I can work out how.
