I always just assumed that teachers know whether you're an A, B, C etc. student pretty early on and then just give you that grade for each piece of work from that point forward?
Can't answer for essay type subjects but in maths/sciences ... no.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
We also sold a very rare game for the Mega Drive on there...we got £65 for it and that was when Mega Drives were old news.
I was about to chuck a box of about 30 Mega Drive games out when I read this, it has got me thinking. I'll just have to have a look on ebay before I go binning stuff. I don't suppose they're worth much but certainly worth checking. Thanks Sue! What was the rare game? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Blooming good thing they don't as my eldest would still be seen as a failure instead of a 10 A-C predicted GCSE student! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Firstly, no - we do try to mark work acc to how a student has actually performed in that piece of work. Students can and do frequently surprise one.
BUT - more to the point, this marking is exam marking, for an exam board, paid for on a paper-by-paper basis. Basically, I'm marking online, which is why I'm hanging round here tiresomely , and can draw down as many papers as I wish to mark. It's nothing to do with my current crop of students (not even the same level), and I don't even get to know the names of the authors of the papers I'm marking. All strictly anonymous.
My top examiner's tip, incidentally, is ALWAYS WRITE NEATLY. When you're reading hundreds of handwritten papers, and on a computer screen too, you start to really (subconsciously) hate candidates with messy handwriting. You try not to let it affect the grade you give, but boy, do you like the candidates who write legibly.0 -
Thrill me with tales of your exciting Easter weekends.
I'm...marking. V v dull. OH off work for about a week, so is trying to keep the kids out of my hair. Except he's nursing a cold. All v v dull.
I've been spring cleaning. Marking sounds very exciting by comparison. I also went to work on Saturday .Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I actually sneaked a day off yesterday, took the girls into London; enjoyed the delights of the V&A and a rather nice Soho cafe for lunch.
So not all bad.
Am now trying to earn back the cost of our day out, though.0 -
The brat has had two Easter lunches. One of them en famille with Darling Daddy and his fat bint.
I asked, quite innocently, if the food was any good and she flung her arms into the air and accused me of being an ex employee of the Spanish Inquisition.
I did point out the Inquisition were generally armed with pincers and red hot pokers.
I have ordered a set from ebay.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

Tetris....it was very common on Nintendo at the time but extremely rare on a Sega system. We made it! I love Tetris. I used to play it for hours. I am much better at making different shapes fit together quickly than I am at doing important stuff like stopping procrastinating and getting my tax return done. I think this part of my psyche may also be responsible for the amount of my free time that MSE seems to hoover up too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
