  • Almost all of his negs mention opening a dispute and claiming money back,

This is not allowed in eBay’s feedback policy so (s)he may be able to get them removed

I think that might be automated immy as ebay told me because of the program the seller uses it auto does one of those after a number of days. also auto feedback is left if you leave a positive.

did you pay and get a refund from paypal or not pay when the item was refused?

I bought a dvd from this guy too. Same story 100% feedback at time of purchase and has gone down in percentage every day since. Luckily i only paid £3.99 so no great loss but a pain in the backside all the same.

You won't lose anything as paypal will refund you. I really wonder what happened here, was it drop shipper meltdown?

looking at the full picture including previous feedback and what was sold it does look like that is a likely possibility, and I think the seller has panicked as it spiralled out of control.

This same seller has been discussed on the ebay community forums. Apparently this seller has done it before (on another account) and has another 4 accounts set up. According to one person on there, all his good feedback comes from earlier sales of cheap DVDs - as soon as the expensive box sets get listed, this happens. From what they're saying over there, its a very good scam and has netted him about £8k before the negatives and claims start coming in. Presumably he then empties his paypal account and starts again with another one.

I have seen the other 4 accounts. They don't seem to linked to this one, and They are also from quite a long time ago.
I started the thread on ebay as well.
