I bought a lost boxset from the same guy, sent emails etc no reply but opened a dispute on paypal and got a refund yesterday....but then I receive an email from ebay saying they've opened a case because I haven't paid yet?!?! So now I'm going to get that on my record

No you are not as you use your original transation number to appeal and get the strike removed.

    A) Grossly unfair to leave a pre-emptive neg.

    B) Why didn't you check that before you ordered?

Yup!! What he said! I always check the sellers before purchasing anything.

To be fair to OP, most of negs came after he bought. And I misread how long he had been waiting.

I checked the guys feedback before I ordered my dvds last saturday (26th feb) he had 100% feedback. I checked his feedback again yesterday morning and there were 15 negs, all since I bought the dvds, then checked again later on and there were 38 negs. I was thinking maybe something had happened to the seller but then I got a refund from him. No explanation with the refund or anything.

    Charming reply!
Not quite the same as not wanting to lose £100 and wanted to stop it happening to anyone else. That was why I was asking the view as to whether to leave fb was a good idea yet.

After having a conversation in ebays live chat help I was under the impression that if a seller had a certain percentage of negs and bad dsr's then the account becomes restricted and any live auctions are removed.

The address and postcode is correct and a female with the same first initial and surname lives at the address but there is no male of that name or surname (I have access to data which tells me that). Maybe I'm being paranoid but going onto certain people finding sites would give a valid surname against an address. Is it possible that someone has done this froudulently.

Ebay has told me that the non pyment disputes open by the seller have been done automatically by the ebay software? he uses and NOT by the seller.

As I mentioned earlier, the address and telephone number ebay have on record match the one on his me page, and the telephone number diverts to a tmobile voice mail box which says it is full.

    Pretty much true... ish.
I expect the seller will be kicked off at the end of this ebay month (round about the 15th).
Ebay probably won't remove the live listngs though, as they haven't violated any rules in the listings.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • Leaving a neg or not is irrelevant, the seller will obviously ditch the account soon and start another pull out of the game totally.

I feel sorry for the seller, as people have said his dropper may have gone bust or he may have been on holiday and forgot or made an error while setting his away status - Maybe worse, he may have had a personal tragedy.

You can plainly see that the seller is doing this on the side, probably as a hobby around a full time job and im sure (s)he is getting really stressed out by it all.

As long as everyone used PayPal they are protected.

The transactions have now disappeared from my ebay account but still in paypal so will pursuit the claim.
All the listings have now gone.
    feedback getting worse (here)

I really hope that its a scammer and not someone who is having problems as this is an awful situation for a seller to get into.
