We had a big rearrange on Sat and C's cotbed is now in our room with one side off and attached to our bed...there were three in the bed tra la la...happy to keep her there for another few months and then will put her back in the nursery :D She still wakes but I just lean over and latch her on or just hold her hand and she's off again so it's so much better all round.

Have been lurking so massive hugs to those that need them.

Off to bed now, night all xxx

ETA Thanks to those who let me know their co-sleeping arrangements, it helped me decide xxx

ETA2 Hi lurker :-) Hope all are well xxx
My baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil
  • Hello lurker :D

    How you doing?

How is babe? Feeding, sleeping, pooping? Smiling? Cute as a button? How are you? Are you enjoying being a mommy? Don't worry, your hair stops falling out eventually....so they tell me!!!

    ;)

    :D

Seriously, hope you are okay xxx

That's a fab idea but I'm not having him back in my room again if I can help it.
I think he only woke up twice but i couldn't be bothered to keep going in to him :o

I'm wondering if we'll have some bottom teeth coming - the last 2 days he's been chomping down on his spoon and it feels like his teeth are gripping the bottom of it plus he's been a right grump!

Hello, just popping my head in the door & tentatively joining if I can :)

Our son arrived on March 25th a whole 17 days late, weighing 8lb 10oz. His name is Guy :)

Whilst I'm here can I ask a bit of advice too? We're trying to bf but he's really struggling with the latch and becomes so frustrated and angry and screams blue murder, til he then gives up and goes to sleep. I've been expressing and cup feeding but it's just not enough for him so I've given him some formula tonight (formula mixed with enough tears from me to fill a river!), is it beneficial to still carry on expressing and mixing? MW in the hospital told me this was stupid and I was just as well totally formula feeding if I was 'giving up' :(

Thanks & sorry for the me post, can't see when I'll ever have time to keep up with a thread again!x

Hello!!! Please answer the questions in MFD's post above - we're a nosey bunch!

Of course you can mix feed, you can do anything you want YOUR his mum not the MW. Some people BF during the day and FF at night, others BF most of the time and give formula before bed, some people just BF and others just FF. YOU do what ever YOU want.

Try and get support from a BF MW or HV or go to a Booby club at a Surestart Centre, they can check your latch and make sure Guy is on properly. :)

  • Glam - FWIW I am firmly in the camp of 'go in when he starts moaning'. I find that if I go in straight away then most of the time it is easy to settle him either by just reapplying dummy and elephant or by a quick cuddle (in a position we only ever get into at nighttime). If I leave him to see if he will settle sometimes he does but mostly he doesn't and it is just harder to settle him once he is full-bawl.

It does mean that I jump up, but I practically do it in my sleep now...

...although to be honest, he doesn't do it often anymore....

Cue lots of wake-ups tonight, firstly because I have said he sleeps, and secondly because I have an important meeting in the morning!!

My hair loss has slowed...but I still seem to be losing quite a bit *shrugs shoulders*

Welcome gymfiend - don't worry about keeping up, just pop in and pick up from the current page :D

Thanks Glam, I'm an emotional wreck :o I felt so pushed into bfing at hospital and he really struggled and screamed all night til the other women complained about me (so I could hear!!) then the MWs kept coming in and messing with me and him and my boobs, one grabbed one and said can't you do something about your flat nipples, no wonder he can't get on  Yes, I'll get nipple grafts! I feel so heartbroken that it's not working how I'd hoped/expected/planned and like I'm letting him down, firstly couldn't go into labour, then couldn't give birth naturally and now I can't even feed him myself :(

Baby is lovely though, he's beautiful and really alert, loves to look around and often sits staring at me! God knows why, I must look a mess :rotfl:

eta: Just going for a bath, OH has run it and been laughing at me because I'm so afraid to get in it and so afraid to go for a poo (we think I'll lose about a stone by the time I go!!) because of the cuts and stitches, I'm afraid my insides might fall out!! Also, is it normal to lose blood clots that looks like liver? I lost a massive one earlier and I wasn't sure, it's gross.
