Som, I think you and I have matching DHs!! He is ALWAYS somehow wriggling around so much that the fitted sheet comes up in the night. He also snores and sleeps very heavily...though lucky doesn't linger too much in bed in the mornings

Oh and also the gunky eye is totally normal...you can try putting boobie juice on it, but it'll just clear up on its own in a few days.

GISI, you were making me jealous of your ring sling...I'm thinking about getting one or possibly a Moby-style wrap, can't decide which.

K still in sz 3's at 16lbs 13ozs! I would consider washable nappies from an MSE point of view but not environmental as I seem to recall there wasn't much in it 'green wise' when you factor in use of electricity etc IYKWIM!

Have given up on any kind of actual oral dialog with my Area Manager and about to send him this letter.

Following our recent telephone conversation, I am still unclear as too what is happening on my return to work following Maternity Leave.
I would like to apply under Section 80F of the Employment Rights Act 1996 to work a flexible working pattern that is different to my current working pattern as I have 2 children under the age of 16.
I am making this request to help me care for the children.
　
I can confirm that I have worked continuously as an employee of this company for at least the last 26 weeks.
I have never made a request for flexible working during this employment.
　
My current working pattern is Assistant Manager on a 48hr contract.
I would like my working pattern to be Assistant Manager on a 30hr contract.
However, during our recent conversation, you made clear that the 30hr contract is not an option available to me.
I am unable to continue working a 48hr contract.
I am now trying to clarify exactly how many hours I will be working on my return to work and in what capacity.
Ideally anywhere between 20-30 hours per week would be accepable. Due to my understanding of the nature of the business I remain fully flexibily with regard to days and hours per day worked. I do however wish to cap my hours (where possible) at a maximum of 30 per week. Obviously in certain circumstance I understand I may be required to work more than this to meet the needs of the business but this will not be a regular occurance.
I remain fully flexible over the 7 days of trading but I feel that it would be in my and the Store Managers best interest if I nominate 1 day a week that I would work all day and have a permanent child care arrangement in place for that day. I would like to nominate a Saturday for a constant day.
As for other days and hours provided that, as currently happens, days off continue to be requested and granted at the Store Managers discretion and rotas continue to be drawn up at least 7 days in advance, I do not forsee a problem with flexibility.

Aless.. the second jabs are usually the ones they react too.. it is spposedly their immune system fighting the bad things and making the new antibodies adn the antibodies from the first lot working.. nothing to fret about at all.. unless the area around the injection site is raised and sore and more than their thigh. DS3 was hospitalised after his first lot when his leg swelled from his ankle to hip hip.. he refuses to eat or be touched and was burning up.. it was very very scary!

Nikki.. ignore the spots they'll go by themselves. Feeling low towards OH is perfectly normal.. you have to focus on protecing your baby for the first few months and your primitive self switches the feelings for OH to baby.. it'll come right again in time.

Xmas.. the worst thing to use on chickenspots is calamine lotion!! It dries them out way too quickly and makes them itch ten times more. Oaty baths, piriton 9fine afer months though if you speak to the quack you can use it before DD3 and DD5 had it at 15 and 17 weeks respectively.

CSH, I would add a bit to ask for a response by a certain date so you can ensure childcare arrangements can be made, otherwise a very good letter, straight to the point with no waffle!

lol at no waffle.I had to pad it out as 'tell me what I'll be working KH' didn't quite cut it!

ta pp, that's good to know! Some other ladies also said the 2nd lot were the worst. Wish I had known that yesterday!

I've not done it (don't think Rhys had a sticky eye amongst his many ailments!) but I think sweeping a soaked breast pad over T's eye should do it

Som- You can just squirt a bit onto their eye, or squirt a bit on a clean finger and sweep that across the eye.
