as someone who ran out into the road when i was 7 and was missed inches by a car i'm using reins.

i see too many squirming kids with mums and dads trying to let go of their hands at crossroads. it panics me as it only takes seconds and they are gone. i'd rather use the reins for my peace of mind.

i never see a child in reins as a dog.
not being funny but (don't you love that phrase :p) what has running into the road at age 7 got to do with it?

you wouldn't use reins at that age and you should have known better at that age.

I don't walk loads but when walking I probably used then about 1% of the time, I had no trouble controlling Chris when he was little it's now that he's a stroppy thing  he protests at hand holding but only because hes independant, he'd never run into the road (IMO). I'd obviously never do it but I reckon he could walk over to the Dr's by himself safely now, he knows you press the button and wait for the green man etc I hardly ever hold his hand for safety when walking there these days.

I'm sure I'll use the reins for Ed at some point though, but I also think I could cope fine without them :)

Southern ladies- I am so excited about our Southampton meet!!!

Tara/Harley can either of you make it or is Southampton a bit far? Em-did you get the day off work.

Harley- also do you have a My3 pushchair? I seem to recall that you bought one the same time I did. What do you think of it? I can't seem to get on with ours, but OH loves it!

Southhampton is quite a way, pennies are bit tight at mo and petrol requires a second mortgage. When is it and I'll try my hardest (especially if I'm allowed to keep the £74 that the tax credit people randomly put into my bank account last week:o. Anyone else had that happen? Some form of rebate or something?

I got the My4. Which is pretty good. Bessy mate has the Quinny 3 wheeler and I hate it. Believe they are made by the same people. I crash hers into all the stands in M&S but mine I can steer with one finger. My only problem is that getting the car seat and the pram attachment on is a bit stiff and I quite often have to try to bounce it off which is not ideal when Kezia is sat in it. Hoping it will loosen up with use but no sign of it so far.

Yep, all straight and shiny! :D Turns out she's being picked on at school. I had an idea something was happening then she asked the hairdresser if she could cover her forehead! :( Can't because of how it grows but the beautician suggested shaping her eyebrows very slightly to give her eyes more shape so we're going back tomorrow! I've decided inner confidence is the way to go. ;)

It's next Friday, 12th. I totally know what you mean about petrol- I swear someone comes round and drains mine when I'm not looking but we'd love to see you if you can make it.

I think it is the putting the seat part/car seat on and off that puts me off. I just find it a right faff to put together and take apart. Like you I thought it would loosen up, but it hasn't.

Feelie- I really don't mind what time. I'm happy to go with what suits others.

Not sure we've decided on a location yet, Tara! Probably meet at West Quay or IKEA I guess?
