I mostly get Mel and so people always assume I am a Melanie (which I am not)

Becles - Hope you get the bathroom done soon...I see what you mean about not being able to leave it!!

Craig likes the bath and keeps complaining that it needs finishing as it's doing his head in not being able to have a bath. We have an en-suite bathroom that everyone has to use at the moment, and we disturb his lie in's and afternoon sleeps when we need to use the toilet.

It needs doing ASAP really as it's too difficult not having the bathroom.

Becles, it is very hard to respond to some of your posts because I worry about upsetting you, but please understand that I mean this with all of my love.

Disturbing your OH's lie ins and afternoon sleeps should be the least of your worries. It is unacceptable for a partner and co-parent to be habitually sleeping while you wrangle three children and two dogs by yourself while trying to do DIY and be a full-time student as well. You are suffering the physical effects of stress and having been trying to do too much for an astonishing amount of time.

Please, lovely, look after yourself. It is so frustrating to see you trying to work yourself into the ground while the person who should be helping complains that his kids wake him while they perform necessary bodily functions.

becles, I'm sorry too but I also think what SS is saying.

C is obviously lovely in loads of ways: that's why you're with him, but something seems to have gone a bit wrong in the division of labour in the family.

I'm so sorry if that oversteps the line.

Tia, caz, CSH all scottish contingent... I'm just about to upload a biscuit recipe for my vegan meal planner that's very like a shortbread but contains cornmeal.

Would it be ok to call it a shortbread or would there be a scottish outcry about the cornmeal?!

SS, you say what we're all thinking - and very diplomatically at that. TBH, Becles, it sounds like he's taking advantage of you. *shrug*
