ETA - We seem to have bum shuffler in the house and no I'm not being rude!

J jas moved away from me by shuffling on his bum to get the stuff he wants - wet nappy waiting to go in the bin, a pen and my phone charger!

Me thinks I need to babyproof
yey! I knew seeing Ed getting the ball for himself would give him a boost!
He totally loved rolling the ball with us.
Which wipes did you buy? I need to check if the huggies 9 packs for £6 is actually a good deal because there's sixty something in those new packs not 72 like the old ones!!

I took Alice to Durham Swimming Baths today. We went once before and weren't impressed because the learner pool was set at 1m (they've got adjustable floors) which meant we had to hold Alice all the time because she couldn't stand up. I normally go to Darlington but since cashflow prohibits travelling so far at the moment and Alice is happy to go in deep water with arm bands on now without us having to constantly hold her I decided to give it another chance.

The pool was so cold that we got out after twenty minutes (vs. the Dolphin Centre where we can easily stay in an hour) and by the time I started drying Alice she was shaking and had goosebumps on her legs. (And I'm not just being soft - I have swum in a pool with no heating in winter but that was club swimming and I knew before I went that it would be like that.)

Also when I took her to the deep end (well technically she swam there but I was supervising her closely) I was told that she wasn't allowed in the deep end because she couldn't swim. I'd like to know what the difference between 1.2 and 1.8 metres is when you're not even one meter tall! I appreciate the depth would (if I hadn't done umpteen lifesaving qualifications) affect my ability to rescue her but I never let her go more than a metre from the side once we're out of my depth.

They also have such ridiculous child to adult ratios that once our next child is born, I wouldn't be able to take the children there on my own until the youngest was 5 anyway.

And even though half the pool had lane ropes in, people were swimming lengths across the whole width of the pool so we kept having to dodge them.
    </rant>

When we were in the Market Place I got interviewed about the election by someone from TyneTees so I might be on the news so that was exciting.

Oh Susan, that bites! The pool I usually go to also has lane ropes but even though it's designated parent & baby time, there's still swimmers not using the lanes and being in the areas that the babies are in. It's really annoying and I wish the staff would enforce it - what's the point of a pool programme if people just do what they want? Also that pool is freezing. Needless to say we're going to another pool on Saturday :p.

Also dumb about the "deep end". I was a qualified lifeguard in the USA for a few years and we never had any rules like that - as long as the adult was a confident swimmer then it was up to them.

Is it worth speaking to the staff next time so that poor Alice can enjoy herself? Perhaps they can raise the level next time at the very least.

Was that when I was racing Chris down the big slide?? :rotfl:

He learns so fast - he watched my friends LO on all 4s rocking then he started doing it!
We did the ball rolling last Saturday and he was having fun but it was a proper football so didn't go far when he pushed it. Need to get a lighter ball.

I get the pampers sensitive ones goes I find they don't dry out like most other wipes.
Plus I use them on my face and they are silky smoooooooooooooooooth!

I loved being pregnant up until 30 weeks when I got diagnosed with GD :( but I still ate what I wanted!

I hated being pregnant. It does not work for me atall! Would rather give birth 10 times in a row than be pregnant.

Som: I had DD at docs with a septic finger. she got anti-bs. She had managed to squeeze some out which is just aswell as Doc wanted to lance it if she hadn't.
Her sore finger came just before she had a nasty virus so think she was low immune system which is why finger went so nasty just from biting her nails.

TC's I got my renewal in June/July last yr.

Those wilko offers instore only or do they do online?? We don't have Wilkos.

All Scotland get free toothpaste Krystal.

BM: some areas get free stairgates. Fitzio does, I don't.
