heya, just caught up after getting back from town. Am now mega-embarrassed because HR phoned less than 2 hrs after the interview to say I didn't get the role

. I'm not really heart-broken or anything as I honestly only wanted it for more money (rather than "wanting it" if that makes sense) and glad that now I don't have to see anyone from work for a few months at which point they will hopefully have forgotten. Yeah, just a bit embarrassing but I guess this means they were only giving me a chance because it was procedure rather than really wanting me (since I only found out about it in the first place because I asked) and had already made their minds up beforehand.
So yeah, a wasted journey & wasted effort, but c'est la vie...I'm being mentally positive in that at least I still have my current job so it's not like I was desperate or anything. Still, very

though.

I made the mistake of using the kiddie toothpaste on ds1 and as he has quite weak teeth, he ended up with 4 teeth out at the age of 4 and 2 more which they were undecided on...he still has them (molars) but they will be due to fall out soon anyway. I was only told about the lack of flouride in our area after I had ds2 so only used the baby toothpaste until he was 6mths old (no problems with his teeth).....with K I have just used an adult one straight away.
Just had a call, our fridge freezer will be delivered on Friday morning, only thing is we need to get ds2 to hospital for an appt and we lose our old car tomorrow and won't get our new one back until fri/sat morn!!! So were going to get the bus to the hosp...now we need to find a way for me to get to the hospital with K and ds2 (I don't think I want to struggle on and off the bus on my own) We need to get dh mate up here to help him with the fridge freezer and he doesn't have a car (and we won't have ours back by then) Then if ours is ready we need to find a way to Liverpool to collect it (bit out in the sticks) Plus ds2 is meant to be going to his beavers annual meeting thing on friday after school.....as it is St Georges day(i think that's the right one) but obviously we may not have the car by then:( Everything all comes at once.....we need to find time to pack to go away saturday too, and IF the car isn't ready by saturday, we will need to go and hire one....I feel like crying trying to work it all out and when I went upstairs to tell dh, I got as far as 'the fridge freezer is coming friday morning' and he immediately barked at me not to present him with 'problems'........Right F U...you sort it all out then, and if nothing gets done then balls to you it's all your fault, I am in tears now because everything always falls to me and I say I will leave it to him but I won't, because he isn't the one who misses out the kids do!!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

People quite often mistake Elijah for a girl
he is cute and has long blonde hair
we bravely cut it a bit in his highchair in the garden at the weekend to try to improve gender recognition! But it is still long

Not enough Flouride, plus there are sweetners in childrens toothpastes. Took me ages to get Joe off fruity kids toothpastes. Complained mine was too minty. He now happily uses Childrens Sensodyne, and the dentist said that was fine.
E is quite a fan of tooth-brushing but he must do it himself for 80% of the time and that time is spent brushing his 4 front teeth or chewing on it. Then occasionally I wrestle it away to get at the back teeth.
But recently I have managed to lose the baby toothpaste (trying to hide it from him... too well...) - it is very comic to see his face scrunch up now at the taste of the adult toothpaste
but he still wants more, he just scrunches in between scrubs
whereas with baby toothpaste he would demand reapplication several times each brushing he is now a bit more cautious! 0 -
:grouphug: We love you.In laws: are coming on sunday and are expecting 2 meals cooking.
DH asked them to bring food but this was ridiculed as not what's done in their family. Feel a bit grrr and unloved about this, but will probably just get on with it!
I think your in laws are totally unreasonable. You just don't make those kinds of demands of other people and if someone is allowing you to be a guest in their home then you follow their rules - not expect your host to conform to your standards. And you are a family in your own right now so it is not their place to dictate to you. I always thought it was fairly standard practice to offer to bring food and/or help with cooking when going to stay somewhere. I know it doesn't help practically butI thought I'd say it so that you don't start to feel like you are the one being unreasonable.
When you say two meals cooking, do you mean that they expect two hot meals or just two meals? How about something like a lasagne which you can prepare in advance so it just needs to be stuck in the oven at the right time? For the second meal, you could do "make your own" sandwiches (i.e. bread, butter and sandwich filling sout on the table for people to assemble as required) or a pre-made soup which can be just stuck on the hob.
Perhaps you could have some pre-prepared answers to give in case they complain along the lines of, "I like to keep cooking to a minimum when I have company/have a small baby." or, "You're welcome to help me make something more involved but I don't have the time/energy with Kester/Fergus both being so young." Or you could perhape casually drop into conversation before the meal something along the lines of, "I prepared the lasagne yesterday so that I wouldn't have to spend today slaving away in the kitchen."Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
