MM, finding a place to walk in the anti war demonstrations in Ireland was a minefield in itself - the Socialist Workers and Sinn Fein were everywhere, and I didn't want to publicly associate myself with either

I have had all bar one at my door several times lately and there are a few people about that would soon let you know if they didnt agree with how much time you spent talking to a specific candidate !! So I now dont talk to any of them !!

    Evening all..

I came in from work thirsty and was drinking wine at 5.40pm.. is that bad? (coldest thing in the fridge!) *ahem* Anyway... :D

    Had a quick catch up..
    Welcome jolene! :)
I agree with Glam about bettering yourself at work... and being a nosy bint! :p That's how I did it ;)
Happy birthday lexi. Any recent pics, Sparkle? :)
    Special hugs for always xx
:T for MDW giving blood.. Rhys had about six transfusions but I can't give blood (they don't want mine :o) so I have to applaud those who do instead ;)

Rhys has been fine at Mum's all day. He woke up about 15 mins before I left for work so I got chance for a cuddle, yay! Mum came here because the play specialist was coming round. Rhys almost fell asleep mid play session when she was here and completely zonked out when she left - so Mum did the washing up for entertainment! :rotfl:

Work was a bit boring.. Was clearing out the backlog of stuff and filing for most of the day. All the interesting jobs didn't actually take very long at all  I went for a walk in the end to see my new boss. My office has been cleared and looks fab, total blank canvas. Spoke to one of the guys I'll be working for/with and I'm going to one of his meetings tomorrow to meet some of the others (contractors, not guys we employ so I don't know them already) and to get used to their terminology. He sent me the minutes of the last meeting and it's like a whole new language

Lots to do tonight but we had early tea so at least that's out the way :) Time for more wine, methinks.. ;)

I've never had a prospective candidate call round. Last time I didn't even know who was standing until I turned up to vote as they didn't bother campaigning. (I spoiled my paper by writing why I hadn't selected a candidate.)

talking bout work it took me 8 years to end up in the job i always wanted to do.

went to college but hated the course, ended up working in a supermarket, which i really enjoyed and it made me alot more confident than i used to be. when i met DH and moved over here, the thurs i moved in the manchester evening news there was jobs advertised for all the major travel companies which is quite unusual. applied for 2 of them and got Going Places :D. in 8 years since starting i;ve manged to double my wages and gained loads of experience in all areas of the job. like Glam said prev and Sami, some of it from knowing all kinds of things and asking to learn different jobs in the shop. i could have been an assistant manger before but declined the job as i liked what i earning with commission. my nickname at my first shop was 'jeeves'....

any hoo!! how was everyones day?

have seen some nice dresses for Kian's christening but didnt try any on. sis has bought her outfit for the day. she's godmother so i 'influenced' her decision a little. (there are certain dresses not to be worn)

votimg- havent voted since i moved here. a lot of the time we've been on holiday. but this time i feel like as we have Kian, i need to vote as not what the govt do/decide will ultimately affect Kian. and i want him to have a future to look forward to. be it a healthy world to live in or good prospects in life. or even the necessary healthcare.

bit of a long post... sorry
