I'm debating do the dishes and then going for a nice long bath or leaving the sodding dishes and going for a bath.... I want to go into town tomorrow morning so I should really go do them... hmmmm....

Debate on ear piercing a 5 month old baby has erupted on another forum...

I was back a week and a half ago. I did think I had posted since then but have been quite busy so maybe I didn't? Tigger was driving so we didn't forget him. But now he's Peter Fogg. (And I'm Ted Glen and Alice is Postman Pat.)

    That is just too cute.

I used to have a box of nappy sterilising powder. I forget the name of it but it's for soaking cloth nappies in. That used to help with the poo stains.

Also hanging things in bright sunlight helps fade stains.

*hugs* to all the poorly Mam's and babies.

Charlotte has had a busy afternoon sitting on Steve Bruce's knee :D He's the manager of Sunderland and she's football crackers, so she's over the moon.

Fab picture! I knew it was Steve Bruce. I'm sure Charlotte will still love that photo when she is much older. Love your new avvy too!

He's back at the paediatrician again on Saturday. I think this time though the news might be better, as he seems to the naked eye at least to be piling on the weight and also to be a little less sicky (though he has good days and bad days). The new paed thought that he might well be allergic to milk (breast and formula) and put him on this hypoallergenic stuff which you can only get on prescription. He also told us to use this milk sparingly and to ramp up the solids so he gets more nutrition from food than milk. All of which seems completely counterintuitive for a six month old baby but does seem to be helping a bit. I was so sad to give up breast feeding though, and I still find it a bit hard to work out what to feed him on every day. When they are on 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but are still at the mushy food stage, the freezer stocks soon run out and its hard to think of things to give him lots of variety! I have started trying to add in a bit of BLW and giving him tastes of what we are having too, but he doesn't eat enough that way to keep the weight up so can't go completely down that route yet.

Glad to hear that Edward is doing well. Don't want to teach you to suck eggs as I know Edward is your third, but have you tried avocado? H likes it on it's own or mashed with either apple or banana. Mixing it with other things changes the taste loads so it gives a bit more variety, and of course it is high in calories and good fats.

Big hugs to Charlie, El, Tia's Chris and any other mummies and babies who are currently suffering. I hope you all feel better really soon.

Well, my kitchen looks fab. I will post pics when it is done, but it still needs the floor doing and new electric points. The in-laws have done the whole thing. FIL is a whirlwind and has done most of it, with BIL1 doing all the gas and plumbing and BIL2 doing an incredible job on the tiling and grouting. Who'd have though two useless lumps could do such a good job! Mad as it have driven me having them all here, I am dead chuffed with it now.

Had a right !!!!!!!! come to my door canvassing today. So patronising- yes I'm a young lady with a baby, but no I am not a complete airhead .

Also, BIL2's GF is going into hospital next week for some fairly big surgery. She'll be in for a week, nowhere near home so will be pretty bored. I want to buy her something, any ideas? I only want to spend £5-10 as I don't know her very well, but she's been here all day and is very sweet.

MFD, he was a little bit sad not to get to meet Benjamin too, I think he wanted to check out Molly's potential future husband early on. But now my VBF is pregnant I think we're widening the pool of potentials... the thought of VBF and I buying clashing wedding outfits and heckling the best man is well nigh impossible to resist.

LOL - I think Molly will be an 'older man' kinda gal like her mommy...maybe we should be looking more at Chris...or even DSS  :D

Jam and Glam - would prob be worth you both popping into Mothercare or Halfords and asking them to have a look. It may be that both are perfectly safe but best to be safe. xx

The reason that the car seat we have (a Kiddy Infinity Pro) came out safest on the Which tests is because it is virtually impossible to fit incorrectly. You strap it in with the seatbelt (around the seat and front cushion with baby already in place) every time, it is very simple and I love it. I would panic if I thought I was doing it wrong!!!

Thanks aless - I've taken a large amount of medication and am waiting till I feel a bit less like butt before I go off to bed again.

Binkie is indeed American from him, I hate the word "dummy" and we chose a suitable alternative. Although an American friend of mine calls it a suck-suck and I think that's even worse.

NO to piercing baby ears while they're too small to know not to claw at them. Molly's about ripped hers off with the teething, I can't imagine what she'd do if there were earrings in them.

But the same American friend thinks she wants to get her baby's done when she's very small. I visibly shuddered and she wondered why I was against it. You might say I wasn't backwards about coming forwards...

jack peed on the bath mats this evening and then OH was giving him cuddles after his bath - and I shouted out, 'Watch he doesn't pee everywhere'. Bless him, he puked on Daddy instead :rotfl:makes a change from it being me!

GISI - they weren't offering Sky were they?
OH could get rid of them earlier!

Looking forward to pics of kitchen.

No, he was an election canvasser. I won't say which party, but he was a nobhead!

LOL at Jack. Henry peed all over himself this morning just before I took him out to meet some family members for the first time and I did not just remove his vest and hope that the rest of his clothes dried quickly in the warm weather :o.
