Oh and to boot, dressed baby up in a gorgeous new romper ready to go for a wonder, about to put him in the pushchair and he did the most explosive poo imaginable, white romper now brown, tried boiling it and it's still brown
I used to have a box of nappy sterilising powder. I forget the name of it but it's for soaking cloth nappies in. That used to help with the poo stains.
Also hanging things in bright sunlight helps fade stains.
*hugs* to all the poorly Mam's and babies.
Charlotte has had a busy afternoon sitting on Steve Bruce's kneeHe's the manager of Sunderland and she's football crackers, so she's over the moon.
Here I go again on my own....0 -

How's Edward doing?
He's back at the paediatrician again on Saturday. I think this time though the news might be better, as he seems to the naked eye at least to be piling on the weight and also to be a little less sicky (though he has good days and bad days). The new paed thought that he might well be allergic to milk (breast and formula) and put him on this hypoallergenic stuff which you can only get on prescription. He also told us to use this milk sparingly and to ramp up the solids so he gets more nutrition from food than milk. All of which seems completely counterintuitive for a six month old baby but does seem to be helping a bit. I was so sad to give up breast feeding though, and I still find it a bit hard to work out what to feed him on every day. When they are on 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but are still at the mushy food stage, the freezer stocks soon run out and its hard to think of things to give him lots of variety! I have started trying to add in a bit of BLW and giving him tastes of what we are having too, but he doesn't eat enough that way to keep the weight up so can't go completely down that route yet.0 -
*hug* for all the poorly babies, biggies and mummies (Bruno, you okay, or do I need to include daddies on the list too?
).
MIL phoned earlier. We were going to go to theirs tonight for tea and she'd been trying to get hold of OH to find out what he wanted (from the chip shop) but he was busy at work so she phoned me instead. She didn't seem very fussed either way if we went tonight and FIL is working late (boo - I like him!). She's calling in on us tomorrow after work again (muchos joy!), she was talking like I was expecting her anyway *shrug* I suggested we go to see them on Saturday afternoon instead of tonight and she was rather taken aback yet agreeableShe's probably wondering why I actually want go see them.. probably expecting (dreading?) some big annoucement (she's not going to get one like, I mean we told her I was preg by txt
)
Am going to try to get most of the housework done tonight... yay :cool:0 -

How is he energy wise?
I'm sure you will get there. Sorry to hear about giving up BF, I know it's hard, but it gets easier after a few weeks (think once the hormones are out of your system).0 -

Quite perky. He has two short naps a day and sleeps well at night but for the remainder of the time he's quite contented really. Which is another huge difference as he cried all of the time (or so it felt) for the first 4 months or so. It's about 6 weeks now since I stopped breastfeeding so I'm over the worst of it, just sometimes have a pang when I'd like to put him back on just for the closeness of it all. I did though go out and buy some nice new non-nursing bras yesterday and it was nice to feel pretty again underneath the bespattered tops at least. Though my boobs are even bigger now than before I got pregnant - 32FF :eek::eek:. Better stop at 3 kids I think otherwise they'll be coming into the room 30 seconds before the rest of me :rotfl:0
