Dunno, Buttons, it's a bit of a co-incidence though.
Probably not, they are kids and you know what kids are like.
I'm ill too, feel dizzy and sicky and just generally bla.0 -
maz, why don't u try putting her to bed much earlier? She's so hard to put down because she's overtired, so moving up the bedtime will help. It sounds like since she's not getting enough naps she's just gotten so tired cumulatively over the past weeks she doesn't know what to do with herself. I'll warn, it takes a few days for it to work as their bodies have to readjust. We're a bit radical here chez Aless...Finn was going down at half 7 but then started waking up loads, so i figured that was too late for his natural cycle, so the past 3 nights, i've put him down at 6! Last night was the best in weeks, so it seems to be working. Since u had been doing half 8, u might try 7 or even earlier! I was surprised he went down so easily at the new bedtime, which showed me that he actually was tired at that time and i hadn't realised.
Sorry for the novel.
(p.s. We also swaddle - soon stopping - and use a white noise machine.)
Thanks
Sami - have tried feeding lying down. It kind of works as keeps her quiet & i can nap but its as though she'll keep going for it while its there so she doesn't fullly settle.
Aless - she absolutely will not be swaddled! She's been against it since week 2! Think I will try the earlier bed time tho - need to get some proper curtains sorted. I had kind of started to try that but wasn't sure if that had caused any problems. She was going down brilliantly at half 9 before but when she seemed overtired earlier and started waking more i tried taking her up 8-8:30 and thats when it started taking an hour or 2 for her to go down
oh well, will try.
She has slept a bit more during day the last couple of days because we've been out & about so she's eventually given in to sleep in pram. Maybe she's had less food cos of that, or had more to process cos we've been out for a few hours each time? Mind you, we do go out quite often tho.:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy

I am uber tired, I'd been up since 5am yesterday and didnt manage to nap, went to bed at 10.30 last night, E woke for feed at 12 and 3, then was sick all over himself and his moses basket at the 3 feed, so I had to change his bedding and him, then he woke at 4 crying but only seemed to want a cuddle, then woke a 5 for his dummy but kept spitting it out after 5 mins then crying again, then woke again at 6 for food, so I brought him downstairs to feed him as I was trying to let OH have a good nights sleep cos it was his first day back at work after 4 weeks off, so I am tired again lol.
I havent managed to nap today either as I had to wait for a parcel and didnt want to miss it.
Well this is my first day without OH, is it stupid of me to be too scared to take E to get weighed (he doesnt have to go) this week as I am on my own?
Just with it being my first day with him by myself I dont think I should push it, I know its not a hard thing to do to get him weighed but i've only just got used to taking him up the high streets to the shops on my own
I do need to go to the shops, but I have no clue how to put the rain cover on the pram lol I bet it takes me ages
Jakesmummy your OH sounds just like mine, we had airline disaster on last night and he watches TG over and over and over again, mind I do that with friends and he hates friends lol
PP we love Mythbusters
Som - What does T wear when you have her in a Sleeping Bag and do you put any sheets on her as well and what tog is the SB and what temp is the room, sorry for all the questions lol
Aless - snap, I am now sitting here worrying about his dummy argh lol, I will stick it in the next bottle sterilisation, would 6 mins in the microwave steriliser be ok for it? (he only uses it sometimes to get to sleep and spits it out after 5 mins)
Ohhh Sami we have the TT dummies in a plastic pod, how would I sterlisise the dummies in that?
Is P20 that thing you are only meant to have to put on once a day? cos I burned when I used that as well, as did my friend when we went to Kos
(((hugs))) for everyone who needs it
I am going to attempt to nap now, OH can whistle for tea tonight lol, I am sure I will get into some routine soonDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

He's 15 and a half wks and the in the book I have, "they" say to start weaning off the swaddle at around 3ish months, however some babies prefer to be swaddled longer and can benefit until even 6,7,8 months! ...
Maybe i need a book or two...

Koag - you'll be fine taking E to be weighed on your own. It's daunting at first but you'll be so chuffed with yourself that you did it afterwards
You can use the dummy pod in the microwave to sterilise them, I can check the instruction label for you in a bit if you want? Just feeding milk monster again at the minute so can't reach them!
Maz - Evie sounds just like Isla! As much as I love cosleeping with her she won't sleep properly if she know's boob's just there next to her head! I know she sleeps more soundly when I move her back to the crib otherwise she just snacks on and off all night.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
ooh, while i remember, got Evie a Bumbo yesterday - she seems to like it :T And she likes having her favourite toys on the tray cos she throws them away if she's holding them while in her bouncy chair but then wants them back
Got her a door bouncer too (10% of voucher for mothercare!) but not tried that yet:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy

be careful using micowave or electric steralisers for soothers as the plastic can melt.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

I don't think that books know everything, of course not, but I'm a reader/researcher at heart so I like to read loads of different theories/perspectives/strategies and then take bits of each one that I like and apply it...if that makes sense. But that's my personality. I think that reading books written by proper professionals can make me see/think of things I wouldn't have normally. They aren't the answer to everything and some people hate them, so to each their own
.
P.S. I was about to say I noticed Susan missing but then remembered they were going to the ILs...wonder when she gets back?top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
