I'd like to join the club please. :j 14 weeks on Monday. I've added myself to the list. I've already got a boy (7) and a girl (5) and I thought I'd know what the next will be by the way that I felt at the beginning. With my little boy I was really sick, and with my little girl I was really tired. This time I've been a bit of both but thankfully that's wearing off now.
It also means that we now need a bigger house so we've found somewhere and hope to move by Christmas. I'm so stressed out with it all now I don't really feel I've had much time to enjoy being pregnant. Hopefully when we're settled in I'll have time then as this will probably be my last.
We're also going to Disney in February - the kids have been waiting for 2 years while I saved up - I just hope I'm not going to be too tired now to enjoy it!

Congrats Michelle on the safe arrival of little Charlie.

27 hours - well done you!

Take a look at the link in the post above yours and tell us if the chart's accurate.

Also, bust a myth for me. I've suffered with awful heartburn and a couple of people have said this is meant to mean the baby has lots of dark hair. Did you suffer? I'm fair, but Daddy-to-be is very dark (well, was before he met me!!)

the chart was accurate for me.

i didn't have heartburn, but charlie's hair is a medium dark brown, whereas mine is a black-brown.

Well, me and little charlie are still at home, but only just. I had to call the midwife out when she wasn't due today as i was in agony with my stitches. I now have an infection, which caused quite a few of my stitches to fall out. So i will have to go to the dr tomorrow for some antibiotics, and hopefully won't need to go to hospital to be restitched. OUCH. Didn't feel it last time due to the epidural. ;)

It feels a bit never ending at the moment. Can't wait till we are at home well without the threat of hospital all the time.

On the bright side, charlie will be meeting the health visitor tomorrow, and i will be having him weighed to see what he has put on. I know breastfed babies aren't supposed to put on weight as quickly, but i'm betting he will have beat 8pound by now.

    Michelle, xx

It's hard to know what to believe or not isn't it.

    Hi Guys

I'm 14 weeks now and really fed up, I have been off work for 4 weeks with nausea/vomiting and a UTI.
I have tried all the usual remedies, ginger, dry biscuits before getting up, sea sickness bands.
Has anyone triend any alternative therapies that have worked, I really am at my wits end. :(

I can recommend acupuncture - 2 sessions in my first trimester was enough to get rid of any nausea. Since then I have acupuncture carried out by a midwife in my local hospital - I just tell her what I am suffering with at that time, and she uses 'cups' and needles as appropriate.

    Do give it a try.

    Thanks Susancarter,

I am the same , if I do nothing, then I'm OK and can eat, little and often, if I eat a normal sized meal I'll be sick.

This makes me feel like a fraud, being off work for being sick when I'm not actually being sick. I'm only sick if I move about, this is making me feel guilty and miserable.
I've found that a lot of people find it hard to appreciate that you can be that ill for that long. I've had quite a few people asking me if I've been working (I'm a primary supply teacher) despite me telling them that my husband is doing all the cooking, cleaning, washing and washing up and is coming home every day to give me lunch. Don't feel guilty: if you're too ill then you're too ill - it's not your fault.
  • i am 20 weeks pregnant and have mixed emotions as this is my first! i havent got a clue what to start buying for a new born and getting all my brain food from reading material! rather confusing as im getting mixed advise! i had no morning sickness and didnt realise i had a bun in the oven till i was 3 months....yes i forgot about the monthly stresses time just flew by what can i say! well now im itching like a flea bag and im finally starting to get hungry which was rather worrying i went off my food specially meat!!i think my partner is still in shock from " im pregnant" virtual slap! he has told me that when the "lil un " arrives we shall just run down the shop to get what ever is needed , surely there are things we need on hand!

we will become parents in april where i believe my partner will step back down to reality lol!

anyway for a good buggie ive been looking at the quinny zappas there compact and light weight , great mobility specially if u live in london like myself the only problem i have found is that they dont have baskets where u can just dump all your bits in!!!

i am planning to breats feed to start of with and extract into the bottle after the first 2 weeks. do you freeze or just store it in the fridge ?

Congratulations on your pregnacy Brazilia :) We're also looking at the Quinny, although we prefer the Buzz, but were finding the lack of shopping basket a major downside. However if you search on e-bay "Quinny shopping basket" you'll find a number of suppliers make shopping baskets you can add. Quinny themselves now do a shopping basket for the buzz, but I'm not sure if they do one for the zapp.

    Hope that helps!

I've got the Quinny Zapp with the maxi cosi car seat and find it really good. It is quite lightweight but not as "robust" as some. You can get net baskets/bags to attach to the Quinny on ebay

At first you would probably be best storing expressed breast milk in the fridge. If you store it at the back of the fridge you can keep it for upto 7 days. I bought some tommee tippee bottles which are really good. The teat is designed to be more like a nipple. I've used them so df can give Libby an evening feed to give me a rest and she doesn't seem to have got confused between the nipple and the teat

i would watch out for attaching bags to the quinny zapp we have it and I managed to tip it over with him in it!!!! Luckily my bfding pillow was hanging form the handle so he fell on top of that I dread to think how badly he would have been hurt otherwise! (normally he would have been strapped in but as we just put him down we had not done that yet)
