I just had my first cramp the other day - it was a toe cramp! Just hope this is not them starting already - with my first pregnancy, I got them occasionally at night (and not in my toes!), but only towards the end.

I've got a stinking cold at the moment, and am seriously annoyed I can't take anything I'd normally take for it. :( Fed up with endless hot drinks (as if I'm not peeing often enough as it is, LOL! :o) and menthol rubs and drops and other rubbish. Give me drugs!!! :rotfl:

Am making DH cook us a really hot curry tonight, that should help with the stuffy nose. :D

    Hi rachelja,

its really scary aint it, how far along are you now? at any of your scans could they explain where the blood was coming from? glad to hear your bubs was ok, bit hypocritical of me but I would ring the mw 2mora.

Gonna go upstairs and phone nhs direct NOW...i think.

    Jen

Hi Jen, how did you get on? Hope things settled down over the weekend for you. Fingers crossed all is well.

I am 12 weeks today. They didn't know why exactly I was bleeding, at various points they have said it could have been a twin pregnancy that went wrong, a cyst or some sort of bleed? I just want bubs to be alright. Thankfully bleeding has settled down for me after lots and lots of rest. I'm hoping beyond hope that the scan on Friday goes well...

Hope you feel better soon. I'm looking forward to that... ... I have a strict routine if I start feeling poorly, which involves bed rest and lots of vitamin C and zinc and suchlike. I asked doctor if this was still okay and she shrugged, saying I suppose so. I don't think she believed this would do any good, but it works for me perfectly well. If it fails I take lots of drugs, so like you, I will not be impressed. It must go on for soooo much longer. Although look on the bright side - there was a gentleman on here posting about his wife who had the flu!! A cold just isn't that bad...

Speaking of drugs... where did I put those rennies, I can't lie down for the burning...

Anyhoo, the doc called me (I've met her once, looks about 12) and said I probably ate something dodgy. I'm not pregnant enough for any symptoms!!!
I just looked back through previous posts and I guess you must be about 9 weeks? It's complete nonsense that you are "not pregnant enough for any symptoms"! I was first actually sick at 3 weeks and have felt sick ever since. By 7 weeks I was in hospital on a drip as I was dehydrated and had lost over half a stone (which I didn't really want to lose as I had been only just not underweight) despite having been given three different anti sickness medications in the previous week. (Or four if you count the injection I was given at 6 weeks). All the doctors I saw before going into hospital said it was perfectly normal for me to be being sick. I'm sure I read somewhere that the worst sickness is usually around 8 to 13 weeks which would put you at the stage when you are most likely to be sick.

fac73: Sorry to hear you're having a bad time of it at the moment. I find it very frustrating that the majority of people over the last six months have only talked to me about either how ill I am or how big I am. Fortunately there are a few people who still have "normal" conversations with me and I try to not get too annoyed as I know the people who just talk about how ill I am are only trying to be nice. Sorry to hear you're moving house while you're ill but hopefully you'll be all settled by the time the baby comes. We might be moving soon but if we do, it's so close I can almost see the other house from here. I didn't really feel ready when I first got pregnant (it was planned but I was so prepared for the possibility of it taking ages that it was a shock that it happened in the first month of trying) but it's such a long time till the baby actually comes that you have plenty of time to get prepared both mentally and practically. When you see the midwife, you'll probably be given loads of booklets which tell you all about pregnancy and looking after a newborn baby and what equipment you'll need for the baby. Also, there should be antenatal classes on offer which should cover how to look after the baby.

I'm run down with a cold and a sore throat at the minute as well. :( I'm not feeling so bad today as the nice weather here has brightened me up a bit but it's no fun being unwell in pregnancy!

Hope you feel better soon! x

    Thanks Jo, you too! :)

Not feeling much better today: my nose is completely blocked, I can't taste anything or smell anything, and just feel generally rubbish. :( Even the sunshine is not cheering me up at all.

I just hate it trying to sleep at the moment! You know how we're restricted to the sleeping positions anyway (I normally always sleep on my tummy and am so missing that :(), and when your nose is blocked, you have to change positions every two seconds as well. Add to that needing to go to the loo all night, and what you get is not a good night's sleep.

I want to be blooming, not coughing and spluttering, with a red nose and bags under my eyes! :o :rotfl:
