People's fondness for giving advice - what can I say! You think it's bad now, but wait till you've had the baby, that's when the fun really starts! Everyone's an expert on babies, apparently, apart from yourself of course, and it can really be upsetting. It took me many months to actually say to myself, "I know things about babies now, and I know more than some people" (I have a 3-year-old.) So next time my Mum (I do love her to bits but she does annoy me sometimes) offers advice, I'll just think to myself, "You had one baby 30 years ago, things have changed, so it doesn't make you an expert". I probably wouldn't say that to her face though
Feeling like people are stealing your thunder - yep, been there, done that. It does not make you a bad person feeling like this - of course you're special!
Constant worrying - hey, I guess it'll never stop now. I know the early weeks of pg are the worst, but really it's going to be there every day you're pregnant, and it's certainly not going to stop when we've got a newborn in our arms! Heck, we'll be worrying about the kids when they're 60.
And the tiredness, again, I think we all know what you're saying. It does get slightly better after the first trimester (she says, yawning).
All in all, you're most certainly not alone in feeling the way you do. Good luck with your move - it's a nightmare at the best of times, let alone in early pregnancy! Get your OH to do all the work, so that you can supervise.
Forgot to say, doubting yourself is normal as well. We all have wondered how we're going to be able to look after the baby. I have moments when I wonder how on earth I'll manage with two kids. And of course you're fit to be a parent, you sound sensible0 -

It was a horrible experience that I wouldn't recommend anyone going through. We nearly lost our little princess. Its only down to the skill of the PICU unit at the children's hospital and her sheer determination that we still have her.
Glad every thing worked out fine
I had to insist on a leaflet after he was born to explain it all the worrying thing is GBS can be passed by hand for the first 3 months and 1/3 of men and women carry it

I felt like that fac73. I was just tired all the time, and forgetful and just couldn't be bothered basically. Everything seemed like a huge hassle and I felt people were getting at me when they were not really.
Your body is going through huge changes even though you can't see anything physically happening, and it takes it out of you. Make sure you get plenty "me time" - just putting your feet up with a magazine or having a nice soak in the bath can work wonders
I agree with people being experts on pregnancy and babies. This is my 3rd child, so I'm getting kind of good at this, but there's plenty people out there still throwing unwanted advice at me. You just have to learn to smile sweetly and let it go in one ear and out the otherHere I go again on my own....0 -
sugaJen wrote:I am only 5 weeks so havent registered with the midwife or anything yet, this morning after using the loo there was a pinky coloured blood on the t.roll (not loads) which was there each time but got less and paler each time, went about 20mins ago and its back but watery an pale pink. I know this isnt uncommon but I cant help thinking about it. Ive googled abit but ive read that much my brain is hurting lol.
Can implantation bleeding be pink or is that just brown? and I thought this only occured 10-14 days after ovulation/conception......(this is my 4th and never had ANY of this fuss before!!)
Hi Jen
The best advice would be to see your GP ASAP. They will probably refer you to your local Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan (although they may want you to wait a few more days as you're only 5 weeks.)
Realistically, the bleeding could be a sign that all is not well. There are lots of women that do bleed during the early weeks and the pregnancy carries on successfully. There are a few women on here that have had bleeding scares and are now doing well, so it doesn't necessarily mean the worst.
It just needs to be checked out as soon as possible. Good luck. Hope everything turns out okay for you. xx0 -
Hi Jen,
I had exactly the same bleeding at about 5 weeks and then again at 9 weeks! Thankfully every one on here helped me through it and it stopped each time rather than developing into another miscarriage, I'm now nearly 15 weeks gone. We had our first scan and it was such a relief to see baby and its heartbeat. Just hold on in there and try not to worry too much (I know its difficult!!) baby will be a fighter and hold on in there and everything will be ok. We are all here if you need a chat/moan/help and it makes as feel better when we know we not the only ones forgetting things/losing things and having strange dreams, well it makes me feel more normal anyway!
PM me if you want to I don't mind

Thanks for your replies.
Since this started (which is only yesterday) but im terrified of looking at anything baby related...(which is difficult as my cousin is pregnant too about 4-5 weeks ahead of me)
Anyway today its only happened once (this morning) I cant see a midwife til wednesday when shes at the surgery unless I go to the EPU -dunno how this works as nothing like this happened to me before- but seen as the "flow" is almost non-existant (all in all probly less than half an egg cup...lol didnt know how else to describe the amount) and I have no pain or discomfort whatsoever, and then as others have said its very early to be able to see anything and probly wouldnt hear or see a heartbeat yet so unless it gets worse or painful ill wait until wednesday which by my LMP will make me 6w1d.
I know this seems like a laid back approach, obviously im a little worried but dont want to get myself stressed out, having the kids home this week is keeping me busy enough!!

Sugajen - I guess with 3 kids already it's kind of unlikely  but are you able to let your OH take the strain this weekend so you get a couple of days of sitting with your feet up? One of my friends had some early bleeding and was told by the GP to take it easy, keep legs raised, and everything was fine with her.0

I spoke too soon, am stressed out and really worried now!
More again this morning, and theres a definate flow now, not heavy (like my AF) and its red now, Im not feeling very hopeful at all, in fact i feel pretty s**t. I have no pain or discomfort what do you think I should do? call the hospital or nhs direct (bearing in mind im only 5w4d) or wait it out?
Think im just clinging to any hope now, i know alot of people bleed and it can go both ways, my mum had bleeding at 9 weeks due to fibroids and my brother is 10 now, but i know that its not hereditary and ususally only occurs in women over 30. I also know these things happen for a reason and no doctor will be able to stop the inenvitable, just scared of going to be told its gone....
am rambling now sorry

I would get yourself checked out at the hospital/NHS Direct. It's better to have your mind put at rest, even if it is bad news, rather than sit there worrying yourself stupid.
Take care and I hope you get good news xxHere I go again on my own....0
