Well..... as i'm now at the top of this EDD list:eek: i will update you as I (at the moment have time). currently 2 days over been slurping my raspberry leaf tea...think i may go up to the maximum of 3 cups a day, been having fresh pineapple for the last 3 mornings but am gonna hold off for day or so as I don't think it's the "special enzymes" in it that'll start it off but the fact it's given me the most upset stomach....really can't be doin' with that...I s'pose it works the same way as castor oil, or maybe just me. I've been told to go to the drop in clinic on the 28th for a membrane sweep and failing that will go to day assessment on tues 2nd jan for monitoring (I refused induction on the 1st jan, I went 15 days over on the last one so i'm aiming for the same this time, which'll turn out to be 4th jan going in...hopefully won't come to that but I feel mr boy wants to stay put after all it is frosty out there!:D )

I went into labour around 00.15 last night (early hours of Friday 22 Dec). Started fairly painfully but never settled down into anything regular. Have so far been in some form of labour for over 15 hours, but am not feeling too bad, contractions have been sporadic, sometimes only one per hour.

Contractions are starting to be regular and around 20 mins apart, so hopefully body is getting the idea about what is meant to be happening! Have managed to snatch an hours nap - hubby informs me I had 2 contractions during this time as my breathing changed - do vaguely remember, but not properly. Am hoping I can do some more of that! :T

Birth centre are on standby so hopefully I'll get the water birth I so want. Looks like baby will be surprising everyone and arriving on the due date (23rd, tomorrow) rather than early or late!

Wish me luck! Will be back with news when we have it.

Just an update. After not much going on yesterday I went to bed early in anticipation of things starting again. And they did, around midnight.

By 1.30 contractions were painful and coming every 4-6 minutes, lasting anything up to 2.5 mins. Spoke to the midwife and went down to the birth centre - v. excited.

(By the way - TENS machines are worth their weight in gold. I couldn't have gone on without mine).

But as you can see, I'm now back home. I was only 1cm dilated, despite having regular contractions for the last 3 hours, so they sent us home. Have managed about 3 hours sleep, but am up now in an attempt to get things moving.

I know baby will arrive when he/she wants, but I've now been in labour for 30hours without much progress and I'm getting impatient! Keep your fingers crossed this baby progresses well - the last thing I want is to go to hospital where they will mess around with what's happening. Luckily baby is happy, strong heartbeat and movement.
