Awful about the car, but glad there was no damage to it or you.
Sorry to hear DD was disappointed about not winning, fingers crossed for next week.0 -
Evening Diary,
Hope all ok, Monday done for another week... only another 4 to go before 3 off :j. Not that I'm wishing my time away or anything!
Just opened a letter I've been expecting... from the bank  mortgage going up by £20 a month. Was expecting it but still annoying. Just had a little jiggle about with the spreadsheet and luckily we will have a bit of wiggle room as DH's lease car is going back and his company car should be here in a few weeks. Always the way we get it back in one hand and straight out the other!
Had too much to pay out recently, school photos etc. Roll on January payday when all the birthdays and Christmas are out the way :rotfl: Actually hate paying out
Right on a positive note its NSD5 .
Feel like I'm running out of things but going to do a stock check in a minute whilst I wait for the rice to cook for tea and make sure I'm not buying things unnecessarily.
Thank you HI, PLMBL and Pennywise, the dance teacher actually text to say she couldn't believe she didn't get recalled. Its just one of those unfortunately.
PLMBL, were not at the fake tan stage yet. Im hoping not to have to go down that route. Weve got another year before that yet. Can cope with a bit of eyeshadow and lipstick but fake tan! I don't even fake tan myself!!!
Thats about all, will catch up properly later.
Getting on with tea and then off to the gym xxMummytogirls x0 -
Ok me again!! Been to the gym, had a lovely hot shower and had my tea
Also surprised myself whilst doing my stock check. I have managed to come up with a weeks worth of meals, only have to buy a few bits and then fresh stuff. Tomorrow we are out so heres my meal plan until next Thursday:
Weds - chicken, bacon and leek in creamy dijon sauce, potatoes and veg
Thurs - freezer surprise - fish etc
Fri - Hassleback chicken
Sat - Griddled chicken burgers, hm chips and salad
Sun - at DD's competition, will take a packed lunch
Mon - sausage, mash and veg
Tues - pasta bake and garlic bread
Weds - hot beef baguettes
Thurs - pastys and peas
Totally amazes me what I cook up when I think I've got nothing in!!!
Thats about all, night all xxMummytogirls x0 -
Had to pay out £14 for one nursery photo of grandkids. I was shocked to see how much the other photo packages were - daylight robbery! Unbelievable now everyone has photo shop type apps on their phones, you'd think they'd be more competitive.
Meal plan sounds good, Mr SA would be well happy with that menu apart from pasta - he doesn't do pasta even though he's never tried it!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Evening Diary,
Just popping in for my midweek catch up.
So not too much to report today, it is NSD6 though .
Really fed up with the kids leaving a trail of mess everywhere they go. Its bad enough that their bedrooms look like weve been burgled and then theres dirty clothes, pjs etc in the bathroom, school uniform, coats and shoes dumped in the kitchen and hall plus the rest. They've had enough warnings now so I've started a confiscation bag! I will go round and pick up their items and they will have to work for them back. Ive said they can explain to their teachers when they've got no uniform left. All of a sudden when they decide to tidy their rooms everything even clean clothes end up in the wash basket and I'm really cheesed off. I know they're only kids but at 11 and nearly 9 they need to be more responsible now. DH and I work all day and taxi them around and I refuse to pick up after them anymore. Anyway rant over! Will see how this goes! They're going to have to learn the hard way.
I also forgot I've come up with another little scheme re the grocery budget! I am going to transfer the last 2 weeks budget to DH to 'keep safe' :rotfl: will see how that one works too!!!
SA, had to laugh at Mr SA not like pasta even though he's not tried it :rotfl:
Hope all ok anyway xxMummytogirls x0 -
OMG are you living in my house :rotfl:, I would love to be able to say they get better when they become teenagers, sadly they don't.
I call DD room the refugee camp, except nobody but her would willingly live in there:eek:. As soon as i'm feeling up to it i'm gutting it and it will be done before Christmas, I've warned her but she doesn't seem to think I will do it.0 -
My DC are over twenty and still make a mess .
I agree with you about mobiles and facetime etc by the way. DD is too young for all that pressure. There's no harm in being the strict parent, they may thank you when they are older (seriously ours say we were right to be strict about such things now they are grown up). Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Im really hoping they are going to learn a hard lesson Pennywise! DD1's scouts leader is really strict and I think thats the one that will get to her the most.. when her shirt ends up in the bag!
They are creating me so much extra work just with the washing alone. I know there is more pressing things in life to be getting het up about but I can't be doing with it and I refuse to put up with it anymore!!!
Watch this space ha xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks for your input on the phones HHOD
This messy behaviour is alien to DH and I as we never had to be told to move things. These 2 just don't care less xMummytogirls x0 -

I have a son at Uni so his room is tidy at the moment :rotfl:
DD's is in a right mess and we now only have 3 cups in the kitchen, the rest are in her room, I have asked her to bring them down and she hasn't yet. Plates and bowls can be lost for days and generally aren't brought down until I threaten to serve her tea up on a tray with no plate:rotfl:
I put all my kids washing away otherwise it makes its way back on to the floor and then in to the wash bin, in the past when this happened I would literally sift through everything and check if it really was dirty and only wash what was dirty (obviously I don't check pants and socks:eek:).
It doesn't happen so much now as we have 4 kittens and for some reason they like to wee on my daughters clothes which she leaves on the floor even though we have 3 litter trays around the house. DD is fed up of this so her floor looks much better, just a shame they don't wee in the cups which are in her room:rotfl:
Sorry forgot to mention ages - DD is 14 and DS 20 so I have to agree that it does not get better:mad:0
