  • Oh I can well believe it SA!

Its actually 17 months but not far off 18. I can't believe he's gone either, we still miss him so much. Would love to get another but we just do not have the time at all. Obviously he was an older dog so didn't need as much exercise and when we had him as a puppy we had no kids taking up every hour of the day!!! xx

  • Thanks PLMBL, I'm sure she will be.

    Yep June 2016 .

Ive got another drama on my hands!! All of DD1s friends have phones and DD does have a phone (my old one) and she hardly uses it etc. One of her friends mums texted me tonight for the number for her DD!! I don't want her getting into this so I've made my excuses.
At DD's birthday they were all announcing that they had snapchat  I don't even have snapchat!!! Cant cope with them getting older :( xx

They grow up far too fast now. When do they get time to be children? I think you're right she's too young at the moment for the messaging malarkey. However, peer pressure and all that .. :(
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Sorry to hear Your DD was upset, I hope she has a better day today.

How old is your DD? Mine's 9 1/2, yr5. I've got the same issue. Snapchat is for 13+ so I'm getting away with saying that at the moment.

My DD is using my old phone (which isn't an iphone) and is now asking for an iphone to be able to facetime. She's already been emailing and texting with her friends on holiday and at weekends - but we have a house rule that says no screen time (tablet/phone) during the week - which seems to become a problem now... I might need to start giving her a daily "allowance" of 30 mins or so. We're out of the house from 7:30am to 6:30pm most days, so 30 mins is more than enough...

I basically told my DD she will get her first new phone in year 6 (she's yr 5 now), when she starts walking to school on her own. So that takes us to next Christmas...

  • Afternoon Diary,

Thats the working week over with :T with a very busy weekend ahead!!
Weve had DD2 off yesterday and today with sickness , she was completely fine by 9am yesterday morning which is annoying but I do understand why schools enforce the 48 hour rule.

Just got back from Mr Al's, spent £55 but £10 of this was on a bottle of gin for my Dad's gf birthday. Going to have to be very creative with the £20 I've got left for next week :rotfl: when will I ever learn to budget better for the groceries?! £30 last week was unnecessary in Mr A's and Mr M's and will be paying for it next week. Anyway, I'm sure we will survive!

Tonight the girls are sleeping at my dads and DH and I are deliberating whether we should go for a few drinks. I can't be bothered but its not often we are child free so I feel we should. Will discuss with him when he gets home.

Tomorrow were at DH's cousins wedding. I will be driving as need to pick kids up at 8pm.

Sunday is a competition for DD2 so a really early start.

Thanks SA and Pennywise, she hasnt been to school so has been fine!! Im sure by Monday it will have totally blown over!

Plush, she is 11 and in year 6. The thing what I don't like it if people from school are messaging, facetimeing (its my old iPhone she has) etc theres just getting away from school and I like home to be a safe haven for them. I totally agree with the social media age limit but then when all their friends have it its like well they have got it!! I start to sound like my mum... "I don't care what so and so's got... you are not!". Luckily her friends have samsungs so no face timing at the mo!!!

Thats about all. Will probably update next week now xx
