  • Morning Diary,

Just sat down after a busy morning... phew! So the car was in one peace when we got back to it Thursday morning. Yesterday DH cleared the driveway so at least we can bring the car down. A weeks worth of trekking up the street to the car takes its toll ha!

So I had to cancel my Mr A's collection Wednesday due to the weather, Thursday DH was out with friends and then last night we took DH out for birthday tea so that wasn't an option either. Finally had my shopping delivered this morning by Mr M's, we are no longer like Old Mother Hubbards ha! Last night once we got home, girls were watching TV in their bedroom and me and DH were so tired we actually fell asleep about 8.15pm!!! Luckily DD's can be sensible when they want to be and put themselves to bed at 9.30 once their movie had finished :o... bad parents ha. Cant believe how tired I am, don't think I've yet recovered from the stress of DD's birthday last week ha!

I can't remember if I reported this but I've struck a deal with Sky! Half price without contract and also £50 credit to my account. Id been reading this is what people were getting after bargaining a few times over the phone so I decided to accept.

So today, DH is out at some ice climbing thing with his friend and me and DD's were going to visit my nephew but he's not well so will leave it. DH will be back this afternoon and then we are going to visit his nan who we haven't seen for a while. DH will cook tea today, I look my day off cooking haha!!!

I just need to run round upstairs with the hoover and clean the bathroom floor then thats it. Ive done 2 wash loads and got the house looking in one piece again this morning so that will do for now.

Alice, I will just leave the car not going to bother spending any money getting it fixed, its the bumper thats scratched so won't really affect anything. Its got so many bumps and scratches on it now, 1 more doesnt make much different :rotfl:.

    Happy weekend everyone xx

    Afternoon Diary,

Well it would appear that I was actually coming down with something which is why I've been so tired. Woke up yesterday full of cold and it felt like it was in my eye too! I obviously strained my other eye all afternoon and ended up with a headache. I was in bed at 5 last night and pretty much slept all night until 6 this morning. Cant believe how wiped out I felt. Anyway, Im still full of it but my eye feels much better today and I don't feel as tired.

Yesterday was a spend day, popped to the butchers on the way home and spent £6.77 on braising steak, mince and teacakes.

Today however is NSD8 :T. Ive had the braising steak in the slow cooker since 6.30am and the house smells delish!

Nothing much more to report really. More snow forecast for tomorrow, really don't know what it is with snow and Wednesdays at the moment! We haven't even got rid of it all out the front yet. Hoping for a snow day Thursday! Haven't bothered ordering any shopping this week since I only had it delivered Saturday plus with the weather its not ideal. Will pop to the coop if I need anything urgently before the weekend.

Thats all from me. Hope all ok xx

    Afternoon Diary,

Well we got the snow day yesterday as id hoped for!! Had a good balance of a day actually, managed to get some housework done, plus take the kids and dog sledging and make a roast chicken so all in all a good day!

Wednesday turned into a bit of a nightmare. I got home at 2.50 and it started at 3pm so I had to quickly evacuate my car off the street which in turn made me a bit late for the kids. Good job I did get it off or else it would be stuck in the driveway now. DH took over 2 1/2 hours to get home as the whole town was gridlocked on every road. He came home with the neighbours and apparently he created a calming influence as theyd usually be arguing by that point :rotfl:. Never heard DH described as a calming influence before haha.

Today is DH's payday and the bank account looks lovely... for now. Just paid a chunk of the holiday and will pay some more Tuesday when I get paid. For a week we will live like kings ha.

So tonight we are having a little treat tea of fish and chips. My shopping is coming from 0cado who kindly sent me £12 off voucher so ive done a biggish shop with good offers for £50. Ive incorporated it into my shopping budget which restarts Tuesday as ive no budget left now.

DF1D, really hoping for no more snow now as it just makes everything so difficult! We probably wont be able to bring the car down until at least Sunday and now im wondering if the shopping van will have to park at the top and walk it down as no way will they be able to get all the way down the street.

Thats about all from me. Hope all ok x

    Morning Diary,

DF1D, sending any snow we have your way ha!!!

So Friday my shopping arrived, he had parked at the top and brought it all down poor guy! I suppose they know what to look out for don't they.

Yesterday we took DD2 to spend her birthday money and also buy DD1 some trainers which she needs for a party today, she did need some anyway. Also spent £5 in boots on various bits and bobs and also £15 in Mr A's on pizza for last nights tea and kievs for tonights.

Today DH will take DD2 to swimming and I will take DD1 to the party. Also need to pick up some birthday cards so will call to the cheap shop in Mr M's on my way back from party.

Thats about all from me, just the usual cleaning and tidying, getting ready for school today.

Hope all ok, Happy February! xx

    Hi MTG

Your snow day on Friday sounded lovely. We haven't seen any signs of snow yet and i am much like you, that one day of chaos is quite enough, and then it can go.

Hope it has all melted away from you now. We have sun here in Dorset this morning. Still bloomin freezing though ;)

Sounds like you have a lovely organised day ahead, I am hoping for a quiet day.

You have made me wonder about Ocado, I keep hearing about it. I might go off and google it after I have posted here.

Have a lovely family Sunday xxx

** just checked with Ocado, they don't deliver to our area yet. Bums!!

    Evening Diary,

Just a small update from me today. Today has been NSD1 :j. Payday tomorrow, can't wait!
Had a delivery today of some items from N3w look which I purchased using a gift card MIL bought for me. They look very nice on, I'm impressed.

We had chicken curry made in the slow cooker for tea and it was delicious, DH has the leftovers for tomorrows lunch. Thats about all from me.

    Hope all ok x

    Afternoon Diary,

Its payday!!!!!! Woohooo!!!! Since we did so much spending over Christmas my Jan wage was paying it back to the joint account, this is my proper wage how it should be rather than scrimping by!

Today has been a SSD, bought some softmints to get change for the kids breakfast club tomorrow.

I was going to go to the farmshop today but havent got the car today so will go Friday. I dont need anything urgently anyway. Tonight is freezer surprise! The freezer is so jam packed we need to us up some of the stuff in there, its ridiculous. Have also defrosted mince to make bolognaise tonight for tomorrows tea, plus another portion to freeze for in 2 weeks.

Thats about all from me. Hope all ok xx
