Full day at work again today booooooooo!!! Half way through now anyway!!

Nothing much to report. Going to leave work at 4pm today and walk down to the local Mr Al which is over the road from DH work. I will get the bits for this week and then walk over to meet him when he finishes.
Ive got £25 to spend so im hoping il get everything plus have a bit leftover!!

Not sure what to do for tea, we have loads in the freezer plus pasta bake and garlic bread so whatever we have tonight it will the other thing tomorrow!

Lunch is soup which i swopped a colleague for a penguin biscuit and a banana :rotfl:!!!!

  • Like the swopping very mse.

Hope you manage to get everything at Mr Al.
  • Morning diary,

Well its official, I love Mr Al!! Its taken me a while to get used to going there, but I got soooo much yesterday for £17! Still got to try out the beans and cereal I bought, but its everyone likes them it will be fab!!
Still need to buy milk and a few other bits for next week as I dont think the milk lasts from there but still im very impressed.

So next week when I get paid on Friday I am going to do my big shop there!

Just logged into quidco and £4.30 is due to be paid on the next payment run. Think il transfer that straight into the joint account to cover a small amount of our spending out of there.

The weekend will not be very MSE. Both DH and I are out in an expensive city tomorrow on separate birthday nights out. My tickets paid for just drinks and taxis which wont be cheap. Im taking £40 which im hoping will be more than enough.

Sunday weve got a friend coming over so should be a NSD. Got a chicken in the freezer to cook aswell, although im wondering if I might do that Monday and swop the meals round if we might be hungover!!!

    Catch up soon xx

  • Hi Mummy,

I am a Mr Al convert too lol, I absolutely love it and you can get a whole trolley full for half the price of anywhere else.
I have also persuaded 2 of the girls in the office to go and they have halved their shopping bills.

The good thing for me is its just round the corner too so really convenient. Big cheer for Mr Al!!!

  • Glad you managed to get everything, my friend loves mr al and has said that her kids love the cereal, i'm closer to l!dl and i love it, such fantastic bargains, kids love the fact that i will give them a pound and they can get a massive bag of sweets and hubby loves the custard creams but thinks because they are cheap he can eat more :rotfl:.

I'm a Mr Al fan as well, the fruit and veg are really good value. I bought bluberries for 59p this morning! I'm not so keen on the cereals and jam but the kids like the cereal bars, its just a case of try it and see! Theres not much that we've tried that we don't like and I'm always amazed at how much I can buy for £30.

Hope you have a lovely day xxx
  • Afternoon diary,

Wow ive not posted in here since Friday! Had a very busy weekend.

Thanks for all your replies re Mr Al, although DH has now put a spanner in the works. Apparently the cereal and ketchup he doesnt really like. So im thinking I can only really get away with top up shops in there. So im planning on doing a biggish shop in Mr A this week and il take it from there. Bloody men .

Today was supposed to be a NSD but then my friend text this morning to ask if I wanted to go along to the local playgroup. I havent been since before I worked full time and I wasnt planning on going again. Its only £2 so took DD along and she really enjoyed it. I dont think il make it a regular thing but its something to do with DD.

So ive not had a NSD all weekend, yesterday should have been but we decided on a McDonalds for tea instead of the cajun chicken I had planned . So thats cajun chicken for tea tonight then! Really looking forward to it.

Think thats about all from me! One week to go argh excited!!! xx

  • My OH struggles with Mr Al too. I got some brown sauce for him to try and you should of seen his face, I did point out that if he could at least try it!!! The kids are fine with the tomato sauce and I get rice, pasta, washing up liquid from there. Think its all trial and error. xx

  • I still get Heinz tomato ketchup and Hellmans mayo...it still reduces grocery bill to get some things from Mr T and some things from Al's. Can you put Als stuff in a Heinz bottle? I bet he says he likes it then lol.
